I'm a Bears fan, and was shocked when he got another job. He butchered so many drafts and free agent signings, it's sickening.
Here are his draft picks from the first 2 rounds when he was with the Bears:
1993 -(1)Curtis Conway (#7 overall), (2)Carl Simpson (4 picks ahead of some guy named Michael Strahan)
1994 -(1)John Thierry (#11 overall), (2)Marcus Spears (6 picks ahead of Larry Allen)
1995 -(1)Rashaan Salaam (#21 overall), (2)Patrick Riley and Todd Sauerbrun
1996 -(1)Walt Harris (#13 overall), (2)Bobby Engram (actually turned into a serviceable 2nd/3rd WR)
1997 -No first round pick, (2)John Allred
1998 -(1)Curtis Enis (#5 overall), (2)Tony Parrish (LOOK!!! He backed into a good draft pick!)
1999 - (1)Cade McNown (an all-time killer....instead of taking Daunte Culpepper or even Champ Bailey or Chris McAlister at #7, they trade down to get McNown at 11. But it worked out so well, since those picks also netted them D'Wayne Bates, Rosie Colvin, Khari Samuel and Dusty Lyman. That's fair for a possible HOF QB, right?). Oh, and can't forget, they made another trade with Washington, as the Bears gave up their 2nd round, where Jon Jansen got drafted, and got the Skins 2nd round pick....great selection of Russell Davis, and a 5th round pick, Jerry Wisne.
None of Wanny's first 2 round picks are still on the team, and only a small handfull are still in the NFL.
