DOBA'S TEAMS SHUT DOWN FOES: Bill Doba has been WSU's head coach for 25 games and he has won 16 times...in those 25 games, his Cougar teams have held the opponents without a TD in the first half nine times...in 2003 WSU blanked Idaho, Arizona and Stanford in the first half and held Notre Dame to a field goal, Oregon to a safety and UCLA to a pair of field goals...in 2004 New Mexico didn't score until the third quarter, Colorado had one first half field goal and Idaho was shutout until the fourth quarter...in 2005 WSU has given up one first-half TD (Idaho). This shows good preparation for the fist half of games.

For more info on the game between Nevada and Wash. St.

- The under looks to me to be the play in the first half- after reading up on everything - however the Over is the play in the game and the second half. - I will wait till the second half and play accordingly.

I believe it will be 21-7 at the end of the first half.

In the first game between Idaho and WSU--Alex Brink completed 16 of 20 passes for three scores and 226 yards in the first, third and fourth quarters as WSU handed Idaho a 38-26 loss in the 2005 opener for both teams...the Cougar offense struggled late in the first quarter and in the second quarter after taking a early 14-0 lead...in the second quarter Brink was 1-for-9 and had two deflected passes picked off...Brink's second half performance, 9-of-11 for 170 yards and three TD passes, fueled WSU's 21-point second half as the broke away from Idaho after a 17-12 halftime score.

WASHINGTON ST:
Judging by the 3-8 ATS mark, it can be argued that they may have overachieved, but its more reasonable to think that there was a hangover respect being given by oddsmakers from the prior three 10 win campaigns. What was troubling however, was their performance at home. WaSU won just twice at home and was 0-5 ATS. For 2005, the experience factor will be there, as will the lightest non-conference schedule of any Pac 10 team.

NEVADA:
Like almost every team in its conference, Nevada can trace most of its disappointment in recent years to its inability to stop anyone. Such was the case in a season filled with expectations in 2004, Chris Ault’s first back atop the helm on the program. The Wolf Pack allowed 34.4 PPG, a 6 PPG decline from the previous year, and a figure even the nation’s 26th ranked total offense couldn’t make up for.

Be it good or bad, the defense sees the return of eight starters for 2005, while the offense brings back six. The QB Jeff Rowe to record-breaking WR Nichiren Flowers should be lethal combination once again as the unit searches for a successor to a long line of 1,000 yard rushers.

In this series- 9 games went under the total, while 4 games went over the total.

However, NEVADA is 15-1 OVER (+13.9 Units) when they allow 28 or more points since 1992.
