The Brew Crew got it done for us yesterday, lets try to keep it rolling today. These are my plays for Thursday....
NFL
3 STAR: Oakland (+7.5) OVER NEW ENGLAND
I like the Raiders to at the least keep this one within the number. All the talk is about Randy Moss joining the Raiders, and how explosive their offense will be with Moss, Porter, Curry and Gabriel playing at receiver and Lamont Jordan at running back. This is true, and I expect Kerry Collins to return to the form he had with the Giants when he threw for over 4000 yards. But the changes they have made on defense are being over shadowed. Oakland drafted corners with both of their top two picks in the draft, and three key free agents were signed. The biggest impact should be made by DE Derrick Burgess who comes over from the Eagles. I think this will at the least be a respectable defensive unit this season. The Pats have been a model of consistency, but losing both coordinators and key plays like Patten, Law and Bruschi has to hurt. I also know that the Pats are 15-2 against the spread at home the last three seasons, but I look for the number to start to catch up to them this season. I'll take the points here!
ALL TIME NFL RECORD
In three seasons:
184-162-4 (+10.70 UNITS)
A $100 player would be up $1070
MLB
2 STAR: Arizona (+$100) OVER PITTSBURGH
(Listing Nippert and Fogg)($200 to win $200)
Dustin Nippert gets his first big league start in this game for the D-Backs. He is a 6'7" right handed power pitcher that has been impressive at AA Tennessee this year where he has gone 8-3 with a 2.38 ERA in 18 starts this season. I look for him to do well here in front his family making the trip from West Virginia as he handles the light hitting Bucs. D-Backs get the win!
Yesterday's Results: 1-0 (+3.00 units)
2005 MLB RECORD
10 STAR RECORD 1-2 (-13.13 UNITS)
5 STAR RECORD 54-43-1 (+63.77 UNITS)
3 STAR RECORD 70-74 (+24.21 UNITS)
2 STAR RECORD 82-98-3 (-15.75 UNITS)
1 STAR RECORD 46-70 (-11.29 UNITS)
OVERALL RECORD 253-287-4 (+47.81 UNITS)
A $100 player would up $4781
