3 STAR: DRAKE (+1) OVER Iowa
This is a tough game for Iowa, as they face a Drake team that is 4-1 against the spread against the Hawkeyes since 1997. Iowa is only 11-28 against the spread as a favorite over the last 3 seasons and 1-8 against the spread as a road favorite during that time span. Drake is a solid team and the have been a consistent money maker as a home underdog posting a 5-1 against the spread record in home games as an underdog over the last 3 seasons. Drake wins this game.
5 STAR: Houston (+5.5) OVER PORTLAND
The Rockets are coming off of a tough one point loss against the Clippers, but I look for them to bounce back tonight at Portland. Houston responds well after a loss, they are 4-0 straight up and 3-1 against the spread after a loss this season. Houston is also 31-15 against the spread in road games after 1 or more consecutive losses over the last 3 seasons and they are 45-25 against the spread as a road underdog over the last 3 seasons. Portland is once again not living up to their potential with only a 6-7 record so far, and they come into this game off of a home loss to Sacramento. Portland is 10-22 against the spread off of a loss against a division rival over the last 3 seasons. I look for Yao and Stevie Franchise to put up some big numbers as the Rockets get the money here!
