  • Monday Baseball and NCAA Football - 9/5

A 2-0 day on Sunday, cashing in the Cardinals and Virginia Tech! These are my plays for Labor Day, I'm playing the college football games small and the only reason I am playing them is because I will be at home watching the games. They are not strong plays and if theses were on a Saturday card I would look else where for a stronger play, but since I'm up and don't want to be bored, here they are.....

    NCAA Football

1 STAR: Unlv (+15) OVER NEW MEXICO

I'm going to take a shot here with the Rebels. They are in rebuilding mode, but they do have some talent on this team. I'm not convinced that the Lobos are more then two touchdowns better, I'll take the points.

1 STAR: FLORIDA STATE (+3) OVER Miami

I like the home dog in this one. Both defenses should be solid, and both teams are starting freshman QB's, but I think the home field advantage will come into play in this one. I'll take the points here again.

    2005/2006 NCAA FOOTBALL RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 1-0 (+5.00 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 1-1 (-0.30 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 2-0 (+3.00 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 1-0 (+1.00 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 5-1 (+9.70 UNITS)
    A $100 player would up $970

    MLB

5 STAR: ATLANTA (-$133) OVER NY Mets
(Listing Thompson and Trachsel)($665 to win $500)

The Braves Thompson has been struggling since he has returned from the DL, but I look for him to get back on track against the Mets. In his career, Thompson is 7-2 against the Mets, including 1-0 this season. The Braves are also 5-1 at home against New York this season and they are 15-3 at home this year when the total is 9 or 9.5. I look for the Braves to get to Trachsel in this game and take the opener of the series.

    Yesterday's Results: 1-0 (+5.00 units)

    2005 MLB RECORD

    10 STAR RECORD 1-2 (-13.13 UNITS)
    5 STAR RECORD 53-43-1 (+58.77 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 68-74 (+18.21 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 82-98-3 (-15.75 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 46-70 (-11.29 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 250-287-4 (+36.81 UNITS)
    A $100 player would up $3681

    Good luck,
    John

I like the Braves today myself, with the East being as tight a race as it is, I think the Braves will take care of business today!!!
