We cashed in a nice bottom of the 9th winner with the Brewers yesterday! These are my plays for Thursday.....

2 STAR: Central Florida (+21) OVER SOUTH CAROLINA
(Line from BetJamacia on 9/1)($220 to win $200)
Steve Spurrior has arrived in South Carolina and hopes are high for the Gamecocks, but lets be realistic. The "Ole Ball Coach" does not have the talent he needs to run the offense that he wants to run. I'm sure the Cocks offense will improve throughout the season, but Spurrior needs time to recruit players for "his" system. Covering three touchdowns in the first game of the season is a lot to ask, and this number has been driven up by the public as it opened at 15.5. I know they are playing 0-11 Central Florida, and everyone remembers how bad UCF was, but what most don't remember is the fact that UCF has killed by injuries and were playing a lot of third string Freshmen by the end of the season for a new head coach. This is year two for George O'Leary and I expect the Knights to be much improved and be competitive this season. They are returning 16 starters and have their second and third string players that are now experienced thanks to all of last seasons injuries. This won't be pretty to watch, but I'll take the points!

3 STAR: Cincinnati (+$150) OVER HOUSTON
(Listing Harrang and Oswalt)($300 to win $450)
Roy Oswalt has a 14-0 career record against the Reds, but I like them to break through and get the win here. Oswalt has not been sharp recently, he is 1-2 in his last 3 starts with an ERA of 6.88. The Astros offense can't be counted on to provide run support, especially the way Aaron Harrang has been pitching. Harrang has an ERA of just 1.89 in his last 3 starts. I look for him to shut the Astros' bats down in this one.
