This a prop bet- Who loses first - Spurrier or Wannstedt.
Univ. of South Carolina plays Central Fla in SC in a nationally televised game on Sept 1st.. Granted- that looks to be a win.
Then South Carolina travels to Georgia Sept 10 and I will conclude that Georgia wins this one.
Now Pitt plays Notre Dame on Sept. 3 and then at Ohio. Lets concentrate on Notre Dame and this is where it gets interesting.
Notre Dame is 7-2 ATS in the last nine against Pitt.
Notre Dame with its famed Head Coach (NE Patriots Offensive Genuis) Charlie Weis returns 11 offensive starters. However, he retains only 3 defensive starters.
Pitt has Head Coach (Miami Dolphins Head Coach) Dave Wannstedt at the helm. He retains 9 offensive and 7 Defensive Backs.

NOTRE DAME: It’s hard to believe that the shine on the Notre Dame program following the 2002 season has worn off so quickly. Eleven wins in the next 24 games will do to that here. Failure is unacceptable in South Bend, so Charlie Weis will be under intense scrutiny as he begins his tenure as coach. The former OC of the Super Bowl Champion Patriots inherits a team that he should be able to work with, at least offensively. The Irish welcome back 10 starters there, including QB Brady Quinn, who has shown flashes of brilliance in his first two years. He is joined by the full compliment of linemen and a talented set of skill players. Defensively questions abound as only three starters return from a unit that was tough as nails against the run but blistered through the air. With the fourth toughest schedule in the country awaiting, earning a bowl bid is a lofty yet attainable goal.
PITTSBURGH: Pittsburgh was the fortunate winner of the Big East “BCS millions” lottery, emerging as the winner of the four team first place tie-break in the conference standings. Not to say it wasn’t deserving, but any team that ranks 74th in the country in both offense and defense really isn’t BCS caliber. Still, you play the hand you’re dealt, and the Panthers parlayed it into a nice payout by winning six of their last seven regular season games. Ironically, even the school’s first Big East title wasn’t enough to avoid a coaching change as Dave Wannstedt replaces Walt Harris. He inherits a pretty strong team that had some good things emerge over the course of 2004. QB Tyler Palko’s development into a star was the most noteworthy. In all, 16 starters return, including now junior Palko. Wannstedt’s first season in the college ranks figures to be a success.
Pitt is ranked 23rd- do they win?. If they win- then the answer is no doubt Spurrier who loses first to Georgia. Oh Now what of Ohio. Well - good team last year and Pitt has to travel there a day earlier than Spurrier meets up with Georgia.
Tough Bet- but a good sampling of the B/C members could give us the right answer.
