WNBA (37-28) +21.74 Units
----------------------------
It's Time for the 2005 WNBA "GOY". I like to always state that there is NO lock or guarantee in gambling so play smart and remember, losing IS an option. I know some people don't like the term "GOY" but i don't do it often, this is number 20 in almost 20,000 posts. I also only do 1 per year in each sport unless the 1st is a push (it happened once). I passed this year in the NBA. I had a GREAT season and ended up over 100+ units but i never did feel a GOY type play out there and instead of forcing one i passed. I will say i get VERY nervous putting these out because i don't want anyone else hurt by it and i don't want to lose that chunk of change myself. On to the Pick...............
.............................................
"WNBA GOY" (10 UNITS)
.............................................
Seattle -2.5 (-110)
Seattle is (13-3) at home while Phoenix is a below average (5-11) on the road. This series has been dominated by the Storm at home. In their last 4 meetings there Seattle is (4-0) SU & (3-1) ATS (including 3 straight). The average margin of victory for Seattle at home against Phoenix is 20 ppg. They have Won by 15,27,29, and 9 points in the 4 games played in Seattle since 2003.
Seattle is locked in to a playoff seed and Phoenix needs a Win to get in. Normally that might scare me a little but Seattle is going for a record Winning streak on their homecourt today and that will be a key to offsetting what Phoenix needs. Also, Penny Taylor is OUT for Phoenix. She has missed the last few games and she is out for the season. She was the team's 2nd leading scorer and in their last matchup with Seattle she led the team in points (17), Assists (5), and Steals (4) while adding (4) rebounds. She is a BIG loss for Phoenix and they will also be without Center Maria Stepanova who left the team to rejoin the Russian National squad. She scored 8 points and pulled down a team leading 10 rebounds in their last game against Seattle as well.
I think with Phoenix being short handed and Seattle looking for a record winning streak and momentum heading into the playoffs, you will see a strong effort from the Defending Champions at Home tonight!
