5 STAR: Mississippi State (+9) OVER MISSISSIPPI
This is the annual Thanksgiving day battle for bragging rights in the state of Mississippi known as the Egg Bowl. Both of these teams have had down years, especially State, but I will gladly take the points in this big rivalry game. This will be the Bulldogs bowl game, they will give it their all knowing that with a win they will keep their hated rival from becoming bowl eligible. The road team is on a 6-2 against the spread run in this series and the Rebels are 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 games as a home favorite. Mississippi is also 0-6 against the spread when playing against a team with a losing record over the last 3 seasons. Moreover, home favorites of 7.5 to 14 points with a winning percentage of between 40-49% on the season are a pathetic 17-35 against the spread. The Bulldogs get the money here!
