Sunday’s 99-point effort against Portland snapped a streak of six consecutive games in which the Lakers exceeded the 100-point plateau. LA has had little difficulty with production against Denver this year scoring 113, 121, and 112 points. In this series, eight of the 10 meetings since 1996 have exceeded the Vegas expectations when it comes to points scored. LA has gone ‘OVER’ the total in four straight which is significant as they are 8-1 ‘OVER’ this year when gunning for their 5th consecutive ‘OVER’. The Lakers are 10-2 ‘OVER’ the total this year when the posted number is between 190 and 194 ½. Denver’s lack of scoring at times this year shouldn’t effect the outcome of tonight’s total as the Lakers are a remarkable 12-1 ‘OVER’ this year when facing teams that average 91 or less points per game. The Lakers have a habit of becoming lazy on defense when this kind of disparity exists between themselves and their opponent. We are counting on that tonight with our 3* on the ‘OVER’.

Memphis has played under in 8 of their last 10 due in large part to the fact that Miller and Wright have been missing for most of those. New York comes into tonight's game with an overall record of 10-2, including 5-1 at home. Mike Mussina (2-0, 2.57 ERA) will toe the rubber tonight for the Bronx Bombers. Mussina beat the Blue Jays in his first start of the season, allowing four runs and seven hits over six innings in a 9-7 victory at SkyDome on April 2. He is 15-7 with six complete games and a 3.04 ERA in 27 career starts against Toronto.
So why TORONTO? Well, we think Halladay is very good value at +155 tonight against New York.
