Took Oakland an Anaheim ML parlay as a side bet for 2 units. Got those plays right here on B/C- not mine. Looks solid from their write ups. If I win I will get the time to credit and thank for the win. We are looking good on the Fla game and Colorado has three scoreless innings so far.

The Game between the Dodgers and Mets ---Martinez and Penny keeps giving me the "Ziergarnik effect"- a real term to express an emotion or spearit concerning a question that you believed you missed on a test- and it sticks on ya until find out the answer- I would downplay it since Martinez is arriving back to old Dodgerland and would like to give his old fans a remembrance. Downplay to a one if you are following. Variables call for it. Still think it goes over. Game starts after 4 pm. I bit off a chew of it.

          So we have played:

          200-SF/Fl Under 7.5
          Now 100-NY Mets/LA Dodgers Over 7
          600-Colorado/Washington Under 11

spearit. Nice call on the Giants under. I don't have any plays on the other two totals you are playing, so I'll be rooting for you. Looks like my Minny dog is against your A's parley so how about letting me win that one and you winning the rest of your totals.

Well Assaveto did as I feared and gave up 7 total runs in the 4th and 5th- Guess Colorado didn't feel the need to relieve him earlier--Kim is in now- Wash 7-0.

Don't give up on your Rockie UNDER just yet. Teams down big and getting shut out tend to lose interest and start swinging at the first pitch regardless if it's a strike or not. The team ahead usually relaxes and also swing early iin the count. I can see a 9-1 game final.

Thanx Sandman- I wasn't giving up- just frustrated with keeping a pitcher in that has lost control of the game. Now its 9-0. Time to barbq some chicken and grab a beer. Can't fault Colorado-they have had this game plan all year.

I wish for your sake that I would have called the final score. But, don't you feel better now than when the game was 7-0 in the 5th. You would have killed for a tie back in the 5th.

Sandman----I had to run out to the Jacksonville Beach to see an old friend from Atlanta-
I thought - damn that Sandman is hot today -he even called my game. Ha OK it was a push and yes when I saw Assevito not being pulled earlier- I would have taken a push.
Nevertheless I am ahead by one unit on totals and for the day. Loss of parlay because I played against Minny on one side- my bad there- just don't play against your system. I won on TB and am holding for the Cubs with a 2 unit wager.
Its tough out there- but you showed great capping ability in your dogs today and hope other members realize their worth, because I know some have given up on bases today. But it isn't about favorites. Marlon Brando once spoke in a movie about 'Chumps who pick the shiny objects'. GL Sandman

Total of +100 and that is if you made the adjustment. I did because of the Ziegarnik effect.Look it up- its a feeling that something isn't right or its not completed. From one internet site---

I'm reading an interesting book called "How We Know What Isn't So: The Fallibility of Human Reason In Everyday Life" and came across this:

And, as any student of psychology can tell you, there is the "Zeigarnik effect," or the tendency for people to remember interrupted tasks better than those that have been completed.
I wonder if that's why I find multi-tasking so invigorating? I can feel more connected and awake when I'm switching between several tasks rather than focusing on just one.

The quote has a reference to Zeigarnik's 1967 work "A Source Book of Gestalt Psychology" .

Okay, a little background (or so the story goes): While sitting in a restaurant in Vienna—every good story about a psychologist takes place in Vienna—Bluma Zeigarnik noticed that a waiter could remember a seemingly endless number of items that had been ordered by his customers. However, once he had delivered the orders to the waiting diners, he no longer remembered what he had just served.

What Zeigarnik had witnessed was the fact that people remember the particulars of incomplete tasks, but once they complete that task, they forget about it and about its associated odds and ends. In the case of Zeigarnik’s waiter, after delivering the orders to his patrons, he forgot about the orders—and often the patrons who had placed them.

Though Zeigarnik didn’t get her coffee cup refilled following her meal, she did get into the annals of psychology. Zeigarnik theorized that an incomplete task or unfinished business creates “psychic tension” within us. This tension acts as a motivator to drive us toward completing the task or finishing the business. In Gestalt terms, we are motivated to seek “closure.” (How often do we here that from psychologists?) Then, once completed or finished, the tension dissipates and we move on to other open issues.

                          Zeigarnik and you
So how does the Zeigarnik Effect affect you? Simple. Don’t allow a service transaction to be completed until you receive the service you request.

Don’t take your ticket from the agent at the airline check-in counter until he calls the gate agent regarding your upgrade.

Don’t let the flight attendant leave until she activates the call button at your seat as a reminder to return with your non-fat milk.

Don’t accept the contract from the rental car agent until he calls the dispatch area regarding your request for a domestic model.

Don’t take your room key from the check-in clerk at the hotel until she calls housekeeping for an additional blanket.

All is a reminder of this effect on people

                            I just tagged the St. Louis/Cubs Over 7 1/2. 6 units
Both pitchers are over candidates with Morris 5-0 on the over in the last 5 and a 4-0-1 on the other starter. The Umpire is 5-1 on Unders however. I believe the game will go over and that there will be a buzz in the air.

I also have Sandmans and RJ's Cubbie play- I don't do sides.

25 pitch count for Prior in the first inning - bodes well for Prior leaving early.
