Anyone else scared of St. Louis now???? -- Bitch Thread

Seems like everyone and their mother is on St. Louis, yet the line is moving towards the Cubs. 9 times out of 10 that spells trouble.

I like this game for the same reasons as everyone else, but when I'm getting calls from people that hit around 30% in MLB and are saying they LOVE St. Louis today, that really scares me.

Yep...same here, RJ. I've been taking the Cubs lately, expecting them to play themselves out of it. So today, I'm finally taking the Cards, which means that the Cubs will probably win. Everything points to the Cards today: Mulder has pitched much better the last month, Maddux has struggled, the Cards are hot, the Cubs look like they've quit, Cubs have an awful bullpen and can't score runs.

With everything pointing in St. Louis' favor, it's a perfect spot for the Cubs to fuck me again.

Yesterday, when this line came out, I am assuming MANY baseball bettors took a second look at this line. What surprises me, is that even after probably wondering about this line and how fishy it looks, that everyone is still on St. Louis. But then ya look at the other side, the cubs suck extremely bad right now and St. Louis is still playing hard and doesn't seem to be on cruise control, so I would think 8 times out of 10 the cards win this game. I can see why a person who is up a lot of money on the season would play this game, I mean you have to, but i worry about the people who are trying to get out of a hole and play this game BIG, as you're right, something definitely doesn't seem right here.

As a die hard Cubs fan, I was waiting for this line to come out today....I wanted St. L, but I figured I'd have to bet the RL because I expected it to be a much higher line. Must be respect for Maddux, and all the St.L injuries. However, doesn't look good for them playing unless this weather takes a drastic change. I hope they get it in.

One thought is that if you hedge the bet and take the Cubs +1.5 than you take less of a hit if the Cubs "shock the world" and you have a possible "middle" winner if the score is 5-4 STL...just a thought.

weather update

starting to brighten up a little bit ( western suburb's ) stopped raining for now .could get a few rain delay's , but i see them getting this game in . i just heard that burnitz & walker wont start . sound's like the outfield will be murton , patterson , macias & the infield is rameriz , nomar , perez , d-lee . the cub's have given up & im on stl - 143 ( last nite )on the rl -1- + 105 & the over 9 . let's see cinn sweep's the cubs & now it's stl turn . i dont see any game being close . oh by the way i also took the spelling test today ( yuck ) BOL all
