BALTIMORE -- The Orioles were dealt another injury to a starting pitcher when right-hander Daniel Cabrera left Saturday's game after being hit in the right arm by a Joe Crede line drive in the second inning against the Chicago White Sox.
Cabrera appeared to be hit on the upper arm and was in obvious pain as the ball rolled past the mound. He walked off the mound with head trainer Richie Bancells and manager Lee Mazzilli. It's the second time in three games an Orioles starter has been hit by a line drive.
Right-hander Sidney Ponson was hit on the right thumb by a Sandy Alomar liner Thursday against Texas. He did not sustain any significant damage.
Cabrera was replaced by Jason Grimsley with the White Sox ahead, 1-0.

On an aside, I hurt my knee this summer, so my baseball season finished early, but after seeing all these pitchers get hit with line drives, Powell blow out his arm throwing a pitch last night, watching, in person, a guy on my team fracturing his arm throwing a pitch last season and now having this knee injury, i'm thinking it may be time to pursuing golf as my main leisure activity.Every
