An interesting story out about the Tribune company screwing fans out of tickets and scalping them for more money.
A reporter recently went to the cubs ticket office to inquire about tickets for prime games such as the Yankees, White Sox and St. Louis. Of course these were sold out within minutes of the box office opening this year by fans camping out and getting in line to purchase early.
Well after being informed the games were sold out the reporter went a block north of the field to a ticket broker which is also owned by the Tribune company to find that they had plenty of tickets. Including 8 in a row behind the cubs dugout for the Yankees which were going for $1500 a piece. So in reality the Tribune company sold the tickets to themselves before offering them to the public.
I'm not sure if this is the first time or most imaginative way a club has gone about getting more $$'s for tickets. Even though it is legal, it is causing quite a stir among the fans who doubt that these tickets were ever made available.
Well it's finally a nice day for baseball here in Chicago. The snow is almost gone. Now I know where I can get a ticket.
