Makes no sense

Its a power rating system not a service .. and a very useful tool.

The real problem here is the fear of overload starting with the football season. This happens every year ... members cant get into BC at crucial times. Very frustrating. And it will probably happen again this year too.

So services are being cut off ... and other informational tools, too, I see.

Monte: the solution is simple ... FrankB's idea is :

"You should have a 2nd server and domain for the service thread. It could be transparent to the members. If you go into the service thread you bounce to the other (slow) server where many only park waiting for selections. It won't affect the hard-core bc members"

My View: You upgrade ... you spend ... you don't start trimmimg the very things which have made you #1 ... you enhance them. Yes services suck but if played right they're a valuable betting tool . People will now be going to other sites for that information. With bettors , services are in the blood.

Anyway Monte .. I'm with you with whatever you decide. I love it here although your decision to trim rather than upgrade seems rather dark.

Like ALL member I came here looking for free service selections. Following member selections and service selections. It didn't take me long to realize the services suck.

That being said I have mixed emotions about closing the service thread. As many know I abhor services however I'm afraid if we close the service thread we won't see many new members. In the 18 months I've been a member I've made a many friends. I've had lots of fun on this site. At times it's been my second home. I think that will change if we totally get rid of the service.

With football season quickly approaching I understand why Monte wants to get rid of the service thread. Last season Bettorschat was unusable on Saturday and Sunday. Mostly from 100s of member that did nothing more the page refresh to get service shit. I was initially thrilled last night when I read about the death of the service thread. Now I'm having 2nd thoughts. I know there are other solutions to the service thread. Solutions that would make the hard-core BC members happy as well as the service seekers.

Charge $10 or $20 for access to the service thread for the football season. If he gets 200 paid members it'll offset a good portion of the cost for upgrades to accomodate the service seekers.

Then another $20 for basketball season etc.

Most of the hardcore member don't give a rats ass about the service thread. I certainly don't. The members that want the thread let them pay. $20 for the season is a fraction than paying some service thief for one weekend.

yes please take care of me 2.......food stamps dont cover the price of the site i looked into it.........plus rj is my accounts manager he can do it i know he can fudge the numbers buddy
