Handicapping Contests Anyone?

Well, if you read my post in the "Closing of Service Plays...." thread you know I am looking for something to do on BC. I wanted to guage the interest and also check at the same time with spark and monte to see if this was plausible.

I would be willing to run some handicapping contests. I can usually get decent corporate sponsors plus if we collected $50 or $100 per person we could get some awesome prize pools (for a hobby contest) and have some fun at the same time.

I am not sure if this goes on at BC and I don't want to step on anyone's toes but just thought I would float the idea. I used to run and participate in countless contests each year with signup fees from $25 to $2000 and the prizes were excellent especially when you can get a Vegas hotel or or resort type area to throw in some freebies. I would gladly check around and look into it if there is interest on the corporate level.

Out to run some errands and swing by the driving range quick but will be back on later. Have a good one!

All i can say is the last time a member wanted to run a contest in here Monte let them and it blew up in his face. Unless Monte knows you personally i would say no.

if you are worried about the money...i could care less who holds it or even if there is any. My point in the above was I can do something like that if anyone is interested. All I am saying is I can find different companies to give up some free prizes, trips, airfare, dining vouchers or certificates, etc. It's not like we are talking about millions of dollars. I figure at best we are in the $1000-$3000 area and even that could be a bit high.

Hell, if anyone wants to help we could have Monte hold money (if we went that route by charging a fee), I can find bonuses or additional prizes free, someone independent can record keep, and hopefully everyone will have fun and be fighting for a great prize.

I just think it would add some additional excitment to the site to have a contest with 20 people paying $150, get some free nights at a hotel, and a dinner credit. "The Bettorschat Handicapping Championship, $150 entry fee with the Champion getting $3000, three free nights at the Radisson in Aruba, and $150 for dinner!!"

In any event I am willing to help in the process and the contest if this would get the interest of people on here.
