Los Angeles Dodgers at Philadelphia Phillies
    Wednesday, July 20, 7:05 P.M. EST

Stats are through July 18. The Phillies are 5-1 in their last six games. And the Dodgers are 1-7 in their last eight games. Lidle is 1-1 with a 3.93 ERA in his last three appearances. And Lowe is 0-2 with a 9.22 ERA in his last three appearances. Expect Philadelphia to post impressive numbers at the plate. And expect Los Angeles to post sub-par numbers at the plate.
    Good luck! - Ken A.

San Diego Padres at New York Mets, Wednesday, July 20, 2005 7:10 P.M. EST EST

The Padres and Mets have gone "under" in eight of their last 12 meetings. Tonight's starters, Williams and Glavine, are in reasonably good form with Williams' ERA 3.78 over his last three starts and Glavine's 3.57. In addition, SAN DIEGO is 37-26 UNDER when the total is 7 to 8.5 this season while WILLIAMS is 65-39 UNDER as an underdog of +100 or higher since 1997. (Team's Record)

Game: Seattle Mariners @ Toronto Blue Jays on Jul 20 2005 7:05PM

                  Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays

                  Current Line: -120 Over/Under: 9 105

Reason: After a win on Tuesday, I’m jumping back on Toronto for Wednesday as the offense continues to sizzle. The Blue Jays have scored six or more runs in nine of their last 15 games and that includes run totals of 10 or more on five occasions. Toronto has increased its average to .287 at home, including .292 against righties. Over the last 10 games, the Blue Jays are ripping the cover off the ball against right handed pitching at a .328 clip.

Gustavo Chacin has had a solid rookie campaign and even though he is coming off a rough start against Tampa Bay, I expect him to rebound. He has allowed four runs or more in only five previous occasions and he has rebounded well in his next outing. In his five starts following those efforts, he has posted a solid 2.36 ERA with four of those starts coming at home. The Blue Jays went 3-1 in those games at home. Chacin is getting great run support all year at home as Toronto is scoring 6.5 rpg.

The Mariners hope to stop the bleeding with Ryan Franklin but I don’t see it happening. Franklin is coming off two great outings but they came against two slumping offenses (Angels and Royals). Prior to that, he was roughed up by the A’s in consecutive starts. He has a 4.99 ERA over his last 14 starts after starting the season on fire with a 2.51 ERA through his first five games. Seattle has lost 11 of his 17 starts this season including a shellacking Franklin took against Toronto back in May.

After the Tuesday loss, Seattle is eight games under .500 on the road and the Mariners have dropped eight of the last nine meetings in Toronto. Seattle is a putrid 8-22 in Game 2 of their series’ this season and that includes a 4-12 record following a loss. Last night was hopefully a jump-start for Toronto as this week’s stretch of games is vital to remain in the hunt of the division and the wild card races. The Blue Jays takes the second game of this series on Wednesday. Play Toronto Blue Jays One Unit
