  • Disgruntled Bills RB Henry now Titan, paper reports

NASHVILLE -- Running back Travis Henry, long unhappy since losing his starting spot in Buffalo, has been traded to the Tennessee Titans, the Tennessean reported Monday.

The Titans will give the Bills a third-round pick for Henry, the paper said.

The move would fill Tennessee's need for a capable alternative to two-year veteran Chris Brown who hasn't played an entire season because of injuries.

Henry was a starter since his rookie season and was coming off consecutive 1,300-yard rushing seasons before being relegated to a backup last October. But he has only one year left on his original contract and wants a contract extension wherever he lands.

Tennessee hasn't been the only team bidding for Henry's services.

The Jaguars are looking for a running back as insurance for Fred Taylor, who has been sidelined since tearing two knee ligaments Dec. 19.

Agent Hadley Engelhard said Henry is excited about the prospect of going back to Tennessee.

"Tennessee is a great place. Obviously, the reasons are Travis went there for college, the fan base, and he won a national championship there," Engelhard said.

Henry left the University of Tennessee as the Volunteers' all-time leading rusher, a record that still stands with 3,078 yards with an average of 5.5 yards. He could help the Titans counteract the bad publicity of an offseason filled with five players arrested or cited for incidents by police

Boy Buffalo better hope Wilis doesn't go down this year. They are fucked if he does.

Gives Tennessee a very decent 3 running backs.

Sorry the jags lost out on him. I see a real need here for another RB. Fred Taylor has injury woes and the jags have built a system around a premier runner, excellent defense (Stroud and Rasheen Mathis), and mix of passing plays.
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

Saves Buffalo a couple of bucks towards cap.
McGahee younger, stronger. If he goes down, they'll be in trouble.

Wished the Jaguars would have gotten him. They dropped the ball big time. The Titans are gonna suck with or without him.
