Oakland is HOT winning 11 out of their last 10 at home and Barry Zito is out of a slump and hitting on all cylinders. This series was split earlier this season, but the A's own the Rangers at home winning 22 out 29 games against them here. Texas also has trouble with lefties, going 1-5 against the m on the road. I do not trust pitcher Rodgers in this one for Texas, lay the 1.5 runs to lower the odds.

Reason: The Phillies exploded for 13 runs in their victory over the Marlins on Thursday. I look for their hot hitting to continue against the Fish on Friday night.

Philadelphia will send Cory Lidle to the hill in search of his ninth win of the season. He is coming off a terrific outing against the Nationals, in which he didn't allow a run over eight innings of work. He owns a 3-1 career mark against the Marlins. Lidle is now 2-0 with a sparkling 1.64 ERA over his last three starts overall.

The Marlins are just 4-10 in game two of a series following a loss this season, and I don't see that trend changing with Brian Moehler on the hill tonight. He owns a less than impressive 4.67 ERA over his last three starts. Florida has dropped seven of his last nine starts overall.

Philadelphia is building momentum having won three straight contests. They cruise to victory again on Friday night. Take Philadelphia.
