  • Check this out about the Atlanta Braves very rare in today's baseball

In tonights 9-4 win verses the cubs every starter on the Braves was a product of our farm system. That very rarely happens in sports today. Most teams make trades when they need help. The Stankees never even use a farm system but i just think its very rare and a great accomplishment about the Braves farm system that with all of our injury's we still are playing Great Ball.John Smoltz said it best about why the Braves have always been Great the last 13 years his answer was ,"We never gave up our farm system to get a player just for the playoff stretch run like other teams.Smoltz himself was traded to the Braves for Doyle Alexander When the Detroit Tigers needed a starter at the trade deadline and sacrificed the future of the franchise.Maybe this is just big news to me because i am a Braves fan but thought it was a great story.

Chung you are so right about Bobby Cox.I thought he was the worst manager in baseball a couple of years ago but the thing is the players love him so much they do not want to let him down and play way better in Atlanta than anywhere else. For instance, last postseason the Braves lost 3 starters J.D.Drew {not much in L.A.} jaret Wright {hurt all year with the Stankees} Russ Ortiz {terrible record with Arizona} seems like everything the Braves do turns to gold and i think the reason is they like Bobby so much they dont want to let him down.{Exception Raul Mondesii} that turned out not that great.Sports Illustrated did a poll of the manager that you would love to play for most and 38% said Bobby Cox. 2nd place was Larussa at 12%.So that says something.By the way Chung i have 2 Naked dogs and a Frosted Orange for you when Ready.

Nice piece on the Braves. I have been a fan for over 40 years going back to Milwaukee Braves. Schuerholtz and Cox have not missed a beat. Kolb was a hugh letdown but they have stayed in good shape due to their chemistry and experience to formulate another winner.

Keep in mind also the braves are doing all of this without Chipper Jones, Mike Hampton and Tim Hudson if these guys get healthy in the second half I dont really see why the Braves cant challenge the Cards for the NL Pennant. If Hudson cant pitch the way he has in the past........a combination of Smoltz and Hudson would be tough in a 7 gm series..........Go Braves.........

I'm a Mets fan, so this isn't biased, but you're wrong about the Yankees. We know they buy and sell players like stocks, but in reality, their farm system has prodcued the core of their championship teams. Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada and Mariano Rivera are all products of the Yankess farm system.

I think tech fan is talking about right now...they'll look elsewhere for help before they look at their farm system nowadays.

Good read tech fan...hope the bravos can keep it up...i'm so excited for all these kids!!!

                  Braves

IN my baseball e-letter before the season started I said this was going to be the year BOBBY COX showed everyone why he will be in the HALL OF FAME . I said the BRAVES would have 2 or 3 pitchers go down and I was
right on with that but I think the key to the
braves is COX AND LEO !! FOR 13 years
they have lost players and there always in the
RACE . THIS year with so many pitchers down and players hurt most teams would have folded
up . ALL I CAN SAY IS WATCH OUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON THIS TEAM
HAS SOMETHING THAT REMINDS ME OF THE TEAM THAT WON THE WORLD SERIES . That year it seemed like the chemistry was right
and i believe this year its right again !!!!
