I did not know this till right now .. #11 ... Unreal!!!!

    13) 6,600 hopefuls cough up $10,000 each Thursday, as the World Series of Poker's Main Event gets going in America's favorite city, Las Vegas. First prize said to be as much as $7.5 million.

    12) Watching a different poker tournament recently, a stern, 50-ish man was amongst the leaders, he looked more intense than the usual suspects on these poker shows. Turns out he is the CEO of Cybex, a company that makes those exercise machines athletes use to do rehab on their knees. Poker is drawing all types.

    11) Kansas City Royals batted out of order on July 1, which is bad enough, but they did it in the first inning, the first batter. How hard is it to get the leadoff hitter to the plate, without incident?

    10) If I were a top-flight athlete, I would go to college and take some courses that would allow me to maybe represent myself, instead of kicking 4% to agent who may or may not be a scumweasel.

    9) Marlin pitchers retired the last 28 batters they saw in 5-4, 12-inning win over Brewers Wednesday. Last Milwaukee hit came in the third inning. A perfect game is 27 outs, so Brewers tossed a perfecto wrapped up inside an extra-inning tilt.

    8) Over last six seasons, these four teams have the top winning %age in D-I hoops: Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois and a surprising team, Utah State.

    7) Nomar Garciaparra got 1.3 million All-Star votes. Can someone please explain why?

    6) If you take the stats from July 1, 2004 up until June 30, 2005, it makes a full season, kind of. During those months, the major league home run leaders are Mark Teixeira (48), Carloe Lee (47) and Albert Pujols (46)

    5) NBA Summer League stuff starts this week, as we get to see Darko play!!! Young Milicic missed all last summer, after breaking his hand in the NBA Finals, so he gets his first real chance to show himself against the rookies, subs and free agents this summer.

    4) The New York media is at it again, naming 14-year old Lance Stephenson, who has yet to play game in a high school uniform, as the best high school hooper in all the five boroughs. All this does is make the kid's life a lot more difficult, as now he has to live up to all the hype that comes with such a proclamation. If the kid is not Lebron James, people will be disappointed. Great.

    3) Miami Dolphins' defense and special teams allowed 11 touchdowns last year, while scoring two.

    2) Setup men should never be All-Stars. Ever.

    1) George W. Bush had to be happy when Tony Blair got a boost from London winning the 2012 Olympics. Blair stands behind W in the war effort, and anytime France and Hillary Clinton get egg on their face in the same deal, how bad can it be?
