  • Tuesday - Late MLB Play

Got 1 so far I like for tomorrow night.

Rockies ML -115 (J. Francis/O. Perez Must Start)

This play is all about pitching mis-match. Let's start with Rockies LHP Jeff Francis first.

    LHP Jeff Francis
    Last 3 Games: 2-1 2.37 ERA
Home Games This Year: 5-1 3.50 ERA
Career vs. Dodgers (2 starts): 1-0 2.25 ERA

Since losing back to back games in early June, Francis has bounced back with 3 solid starts. This guy loves pitching at Coors Field and has a big advantage over his counterpart Odalis Perez who will be making his first start since May 14. Perez was on the DL due to shoulder tendinitis and said "I'm not 100 percent, but I can go and perform......". Perez has enough problems pitching at Coors Field and not being 100% is asking for trouble.

Perez made 4 starts for the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate Las Vegas 51s as part of his rehabilitation program:

    4 starts
    14 2/3 IP
    14 Hits
    4.30 ERA
    4 BB
    11 K

IMO, not very promising. Here are his past and present MLB stats:

    LHP Odalis Perez
Last 3 Games (before the injury): 0-3 5.89 ERA
Away Games This Year: 2-2 5.64 ERA
    Last 5 games @ Coors Field: 1-4 9.62ERA!!!

Perez coming off the DL and making his first start in 7 weeks at Coors Field??? Spells trouble for the Dodger faithful tomorrow. Add to the fact that Colorado is hitting .326 vs. LHP at home this year.

Adding an early DOG play with value

            Blue Jays ML +120
Blue Jays Alt. RL -1.5 +230

Taking a stab with the Jays tonight. I know the A's have been smoking hot lately but look closely and you'll see most of those wins have come at home. They still remain a very poor road team and tonight they are a FAV over the Jays, who by the way just took 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox in Boston.

A's are 23-9 in their last 32 games.
Only 10 of those 32 games were on the road.
They were 5-5 in those 10 road games.
3 of those of 5 wins came in Seattle, which is not saying much.
A's are 13-25 on the road this year!!!!

Jays' starter Towers is coming off a great outing vs. Tampa where he was throwing a no hitter up until the 7th inning. Towers has already beaten Oakland once this year, 5-2. Haren, by the way, took the loss in that game.

I really think the wrong team is favoured here and feel the Jays should be a small FAV here tonight. Will take my chances with + money here.

If you want to try the Jays alternate run line here's a good stat for you:

Jays are 20-16 at home this year, however 18 of those 20 wins have been by 2 runs or more. So, if you like them to win then take a shot at the +230 on the alt. RL as well??
