  • Dogs of the Day - Saturday

Finally. A 3-0 sweep last night and two were big dogs. It's been awhile but my dog plays are back ahead. Not a lot yet, but my system is starting to find more plays which I can narrow down so I'm only playing the very best ones. For example, I have seven plays today that fall under my system which I was able to narrow down to just four. So here goes.

    Washington +135
    SF Giants +175
    Toronto +175
    Texas +110

    38-49
    Plus 2.01 units

I posted some stuff last night, mainly for guys new to betting bases, that I think shows very clearly, why playing mostly favorites can be very expensive. Take a peek and if you think it's helpful, please bump it up to keep it off the second page. Thanks.

This does not fall under my system, but how often do you get the hottest team in baseball playing at home AS A DOG. I'm also playing Oakland +110.

I hope I'm not the only one taking advantage of my dog plays. They are red hot. My first two dogs for today, Washington and Texas were both winners, making six dog winners in a row. Not that I'm saying this is going to happen, but it would take at least 8 dog losers in a row, to offset these winners. I still have one left for today that hasen't started yet, the SF Giants at +170, if anyone wants to take a chance. Toronto is already in progress.

              Congrats

to you sandman!! Good job and good write ups and plus yesterdays information!!

I loved the Washington boys today as my only dog and had the Twins and Boston on R/L'S for my other big ones. So got real lucky with the Dead Sox win.

Did go smaller on the hapless Cardinals at home as they did go down to the lowliest road team in the NL. There may just be a play here tomorrow on either/both the side and total with NEITHER Jennings OR MULDER doing anything this year! Should be another ugly game but bucks to be made on it.

The run line juice plays will start throwing craps here shortly as the beginning appears a little advanced this year from previous years. But there are still one or two available a day. Your dogs should start showing up in greater numbers here as well very soon.

SURE HOPE THE PALE PANTIES OF CHICAGO GO DOWN TONIGHT TOO as I have no play on the game BUT will be A NICE PLAY TOMORROW......OTHERWISE...little to nadda for tomorrow if the A's go down at home.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU TOMORROW!! (p.s....that fiver streak I mentioned to you is a NINE SPOT NOW up from the 7!

HOPE ALL YOUR BARKERS COME THROUGH FOR YOU AND EVERYONE TOMORROW!! Goldvike

Sandman, you make some good points, and it seems like a safe method.
You might not get rich but it keeps you in the game.
That being said, I thint that you might have to concede that some players, notably, Chucky Cheese, who plays a lot of favorites, has done extremely well with his method which includes a great deal of favorites.
Thus, I think you overall point might apply more to someone who wants to bit pretty much on his own rather than just following someone like Chuck. jmho.
ps If it works for you and you are comfortable with it, thats all that matters.

Savage. You are right in that I am not addressing those that follow other peoples plays. It seems I've seen more than usual, posts from guys who lost a big play, regardless of the reason, more or less letting off steam. I'm more concerned for the person who sees a game with an All Star pitcher against say, an average team laying around 200. Those are the ones that don't seem to realize the numbers are against them when they play these big favorites. What Chuck is doing is laying a run to get the juice down to around even. This way, he dosen't have to go 2-1 to make a profit.
And yeah, so far it works for me. But, keep in mind Savage, I don't just play dogs because they are dogs. I have a so called system for finding plays, both dogs and favorites, but I don't play any of the favorites over 120.

Vike. Thanks. I hope you are right about some good dog plays starting to show up. They do start doing better right around All Star time.

If anything, the A's losing tonight, makes them a go against tomorrow. They had a four game winning streak ended by a loss and then went on an eight game winning streak, which ended tonight. When the second streak ends, is usually the time the team starts losing more than they win for the next week or more. The only problem I have playing against the A's tomorrow is that it is Sunday.

I'm still lost. Your five streaker that is now a Nine Spot refers to what. Your winning streak, a teams streak, what.

                      Sandman-I hear you.
My only point is that you take a very conservative approach which works and to now has yielded you a small profit.
Chuck has not taken what is considered a conservative approach and as stated has done better in units won than probably 99.9% of the people out there.
I am knocking your system but just pointing out that at least to me up to now, it seems that your system keeps you in the game with modest profits so to speak;I think that you would agree that this is not a method to make a lot quickly as an approach like Chuck uses, at least not for this season. Needless to say, an approach based mostly on favorites could also yield losses in a shorter amount of time than yours would.

Savage. I don't understand why you are comparing my plays to Chucks plays. You say yourself that he does better than 99.9% of the people out there. You should be comparing my profits and losses to the 99.9% of the people who don't do as well as Chuck. I think there are many many more players than you think who would be estatic if they were able to stay in the game with modest profits. Sure beats big losses.

Actually, when I am on a little streak, like the past couple of days, I won 6.7 units in just the past three days. If my units were a thousand dollars like Chuck's, I would have won $6,700 in just three days. I wouldn't call that modest.

just check your box. Sent you tomorrows what ISSS...ISSS NOT to take and the others to stay away from. The streak is just the 5*'s that have hit in the last couple weeks....longest one I had in a long long time. Be sure to check that total too I sent!

GOOD LUCK WITH THOSE BARKERS TOMORROW and will look forward to them!!!

Sandman-Sorry;I didn't mean to offend you.
I would agree that for a player who doesn't want to take too many risks(ie lose a lot of money quickly) and just have some fun, your system seems to be pretty good.
I was merely trying to point out that playing favorites at least in baseball and at least for this season is not necessarily a bad thing;that is why I alluded to Chuck's record, which has been very consistent for the ENTIRE season and made him and anyone who follows him and his scaling system(no matter how much a person bets per game) a very nice return.
                            Continued good luck!

No problem Savage. No question that a very good capper can make money playing either favs or dogs, but the bad cappers will lose faster by playing mostly favorites. I just hate to lay a lot of juice and when I see favorites, I'll parley them together. For example today I have a two teamer with St. Louis and Disneyland. It pays +109. Good Luck to you Savage.
