      13) No idea who AL MVP will be this year, but I have pretty good idea who Oakland's MVP is; the A's were 17-32 before Bobby Crosby came back from his rib injury- they are 20-8 since he returned and are close to getting into the Wild Card hunt.

      12) Of the five grand slams hit by oldest players in baseball history, four were hit by NL players, which is surprising, considering the DH and all. Julio Franco is #1 and #2 on that list.

      11) Red Sox went 116 home games without getting blanked, then got shut out twice in four games at Fenway. Go figure.

      10) Actress Jennifer Tilly won World Series of Poker bracelet in Vegas this week, which will hopefully cause the movie Bound to be shown on cable a couple of times in near future.

      9) Cavaliers appear to have moved on, without Larry Brown, so where will out least favorite NBA coach wind up? Knicks? Back in Detroit? Managing baseball in the Bronx?

      8) On Friday, July 1, eight Seattle Sonics become free agents. Their coach is a free agent. Since Sonics are owned by Starbucks, so the price of latte might go up next week.

      7) Charlotte Bobcats, by taking Felton and May Tuesday, have drafted three players in two years who have won NCAA titles the previous season. It is good to have guys who are used to winning.

      6) Roger Clemens has allowed two runs in six starts on road, covering 41 innings, yet the Astros are 2-4 in those six games. Kind of weird.

      5) Adam Dunn has 20 homers, just 40 RBI. He is this generation's Dave Kingman.

      4) Want to do some early Christmas shopping? On www.brettfavre.com, an autographed ball goes for $259, and autographed jersey for $349.

      3) There is no restroom in the visitor's bullpen at Petco Park, so players have to jump over a fence and use the public facility. They need to fix that situation.

      2) Mets had three sac flies in one inning Friday night, just fourth time that has happened in baseball history. Two days later, Astros had three sacrifice bunts in an inning, just the 14th time that has happened.

      1) There were six ballplayers from SEC schools who declared early for NBA Draft but didn't get selected. Again, who advises these kids? It is too bad kids like that can't go back to school and play, but they know the rules, and now have to make the NBA the hard way, or go find a job.
