  • 3 Wise Men Report Friday June 24rd 2005

All I can say is that we are as dumbfounded as you. Was speaking with Karl yesterday and since our system was discovered and moulded 9 years ago we have had intense winning seasons in all of the first 8 years. So this is by far the worst year to date.

We've made plans to talk again over the weekend … so we won’t take this lying down that’s for certain.

One thing you can bank on about “ Cautious Cover “ … when I say pass or nibble I fucking mean it. I haven’t played in a long time but I stay up and root just as hard hoping to snap the skids. This has been a dismal week when it should have been a good one. Most disturbing, indeed.

Pass this Weekend ( naturally ) but I’ll show you what the method generates just the same. There is lots of repairing to do.

I will say this in advance …. STARTING MONDAY WAGERING WILL BE AT THE BARE MINIMUM. If Your BMs don’t like it .. tell them to scratch their fat asses … they are a dime a dozen and You Are The Boss . Most likely he’s a little runt coward spending his life with one eye on a racing form and another looking over his shoulder scared of being popped by the bulls. Knock him over with a feather.

          Good Luck Wisemen!

It sucks everyday to be passing on your plays, because I have faith in you guys. But, I have been passing all this week and barley nibbled the week before. Will get back to killing to book when you say so.

Thanks for your hard work. Coverboy, Kmann, and Frankb your honesty and care for other members is what keeps your camp strong. We know you'll win and save us tons widgets now and in the future.

                Coverboy,
I apologize if I am out of lien saying this, but the fact that a system has worked well for a number of years does not guarantee that it will work this season.
This could be the one year that all of your tried and proven methods simply don't work for this particular season.
I am sure you have at least thought of this before, but would it not be better to go over your losing selections, check the criterion you used and then either eliminate those which were predominantly in choosing those teams and then eliminate those(the criterion) for at least the time being and/or choose some new criterion which have had a proven record for choosing winners for this season.
I am not saying to shelve your proven system;what I am saying is that in the same way that say an outstanding baseball player or pitcher can have a bad season, I would think the same would apply to a system.
Once/if the system "bounces back" and shows some consistency, then you could use it again.
Above is obviously offered only with good intentions, and if you feel I am way off with my analysis, then I apologize for offering it.

                              Thanks again guys ....

Sooner or later we all need to master " The Art of Passing " .. some people just can't or don't want to. It's the struggle inside us ... the need for action ... vs. a more reasonable alternative. Many times not playing is most valuable to the bottom line.

I know we'd all rather be in there than on the sidelines but I'm sure as hell not going to ask you great guys to chase good money after bad.

Earlier in the season I talked about the value of patience but I had no idea that we'd have to be THIS patient ... lol

Maybe just maybe we'll start getting back to normal next week although I still urge extreme caution.

                              Love you guys,
