      12) At last, a classic game in the NBA Finals, but all it does is support my case for shorter series in the NBA playoffs. Urgency makes the games better, just like in the college tournament. More games like this would be a boost to ratings, which would increase money teams get from TV, so they would wind up making more $$$ by shortening the series, in the long run.

      11) Tim Duncan had tough fourth quarter; 1 for 7 on the foul line, missed a pretty easy tap/dunk that could have won it at the buzzer.

      10) Robert Horry is greatest role player in history of the NBA; how many clutch shots has he made? I am serious; he better make the Hall of Fame.

Horry had zero points in first 35:59 of Game 5, but in the last 17:01, he scored 21 huge points.

      9) Basketball 101: the most dangerous man on a play that is inbounded on the side is the man inbounding the ball. He always seems to get open for a shot.

      8) Billion dollar business, all the glitz, all the pomp, all those cheerleaders, but still comes down to foul shots.

      7) Don't want to say NBA playoffs drag, but since the start of playoffs, Vijay Singh has earned $2.6 million.

      6) Eldrick Woods is 9 for 9 in majors when he leads after 54 holes; he is 0 for 25 when he doesn't lead.

      5) Lookalikes; golfer Jason Gore, actor Kevin James.

      4) Speaking of Gore, every time Annika Sorenstam or Michelle Wie is given a sponsor's exemption, someone who can actually win the tournament gets cheated out of a bid. Guys on Nationwide Tour can play, too.

      3) Reid Brees, younger brother of Charger QB Drew, is left fielder for the Baylor baseball team playing in the College World Series.

      2) The Mets don't score many runs, but six times in Kris Benson's nine starts, they've scored 7+ runs.

      1) Friday night, Tyler Walker of Giants entered game in a save situation with bases loaded, no one out, and struck out all three hitters he faced, with none of the runners scoring. It was first time that had happened in at least 36 years, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
