  • NFL GOLDEN futures opportunity, get with this!!!

Here are the odds to with the AFC West set by Pinny as of 12:40AM on 6-18-05. Do the math!!! If you have the bankroll to do it, bet all three teams to win the division (DEN, KC, SD). With the schedule I've put here of the Raiders season, there is NO WAY they will win the division. Bottomline, easy money in the bank to be made. One of those three teams will win the division thus yielding a nice profit in the long run.

Worst possible case happening that I can see is SD winning the division thus making a +480 profit.

Tigger, could be wrong but I got it figuired out like this, please help me to understand this a little better, thanks.

    1000 on Den @ +259
    1000 on K.C. @ +266
    1000 on S.D, @ +248
    --------------------
    3000 - 2480 = -520 If S.D. wins
    3000 - 2590 = -410 if Den wins
    3000 - 2660 = -340 if K.C. wins

I agree, explain how you could win 480 in the worst case.
      Great Day To Win

        keawe......

If SD wins you get your $1000 back plus $2480. $2480 - $2000 ($1000 each lost on KC and Den) = $480.

Not sure if that's what you wanted to know. Looks to me you were subtracting $3000, only subtract $2000 as losses because he is not playing the Raiders at all.

He means worst case within the 3 teams (KC, Den, SD). He is already excluding Raiders.

Keawe, you're not going to take it from 3000, the number will be 2000 because you'll be refunded the bet that you made and won. For example.....

If SD wins then you get the 1000 back for that bet (that was yours) plus the 2480 for the winnings. Now you have to pay for the 2 bets you lost (-2000). So you walk with a 480 profit. I hope this helps.

You're right here Kappa. I can't see the Raiders even coming close to winning the division this year. For many reasons, 1) The suck. 2) They have a hard schedule. 3) They came in dead last last year at 5-11. 4) They are not going to be able to overcome these other 3 solid teams.

                  Could it happen? Yes
I can't see it happening in my mind, and anyone that watches football will tell you the same thing, I garuntee that.

No, it's the only one I found like this where the math works. I just wish I had a few extra 1000 to throw around now, LOL.

a little early for me for NFL, but hope you win. the math is corect. you become the book, as if someone bet the raiders to win west. giving about 6:1 odds on their bet,
which is what the book is doing. the only difference is that you get slightly varying payouts, depending on which one of the other 3 win.

a little clarification...this is tough without talking it thru! you're putting up about 5:1, where the book is only giving 3:1 on the raiders.

Thanks Kappa I got it now, I'm just used to local who don't give back the original bet plus the odds.
Thanks Tigger for the info, I too wish I had an extra $3000 lying around to place this bet!....I also need to get one of these offshore account thingies.

Keawe - I used to run with a local book a long time ago. Offshore is MUCH MUCH better. For these reasons:

                              1) Games are posted sometimes up to a week in advance for early pickers.
                              2) No arguing with the Book on who is up on who and by how much.
                              3) Convience baby! Anytime..... from any computer, log on and it's there.
                              4) Much better odds in a lot of cases, specially bases
                              5) Bigger array of games and sports.

The only thing I miss about the local books and every now and then you catch one sleeping on their stuff and they took the day off or something and you can bang a surefire winner with great odds. Like the time I told RJ about last year in the NFL.
