Thursday was a 5-3 day for +2.11 units. These are my plays for Friday...........
5 STAR: COLORADO (CHACON)(+$113) OVER Arizona (Kim)
I love the Rockies in this spot. Kim -$125? Give me a fucking break!!! The Rockies went 1-2 in Houston, but could have easily went 2-1 if not for the 5 run lead in the ninth inning that they blew in game two. The Diamondbacks are struggling offensively, and I look for Kim to struggle in his first start at Coors field. Arizona is 6-13 after playing a game as a home underdog and they are 2-10 in road games after being shutout by a division opponent since 1997.
3 STAR: Pittsburgh (Suppan)(+$130) OVER PHILADELPHIA (ROA)
I'm going to stay with the Pirates again today. They are off to a great start and will have a lot of confidence going into Philadelphia. The Phillies pitcher Joe Roa is 0-6 in day games the last three seasons.
3 STAR: MILWAUKEE (RITCHIE)(+$143) OVER San Francisco (Ainsworth)
I am not convinced that the Giants will be a serious contender again this season. They are coming off of a sweep of the Padres, but San Diego has very little punch in their lineup right now. In fact in the three game sweep the Giants only batted .245 in that series. I'm going to take a shot here with the Brewers who are looking for their first win of the season in their home opener. Friday has also been a good day for Brewers pitcher Todd Ritchie. Ritchie is 7-1 when pitching of Fridays since 1997.
3 STAR: Chicago (Estes)(+$110) OVER CINCINNATI (GRAVES)
The Reds are struggling out of the gate, while the Cubbies are playing very good ball. The Cubs have also played very well at Cincinnati, they are 10-7 their over the last three seasons. The Reds are also 53-86 in home games when the total is between 8.5-10 over the last three seasons.
2 STAR: Seattle (Franklin)(+$112) OVER TEXAS (VALDES)
The Mariners have had their way in Texas, where they are 13-7 the last three seasons. They have a very favorable match up today against Valdes. Since 1997, Ismal Valdes is 1-7 against the Mariners with an ERA of 4.03. Seattle is also 30-8 in road games where the total is 10 or 10.5 the last three seasons.
2 STAR: Cleveland (Davis)(+$111) OVER KANSAS CITY (GEORGE)
The Royals swept the White Sox, winning all three games as a home underdog. Now that they are in the role of the favorite, I will go the other way and take the Indians. Jason Davis is going to be a very good pitcher and I look for him to have a strong outing today. Davis is 1-0 against the Royals with an ERA of 1.80 in his career.
