Chuck, you need to get into a habit of running that or Adaware (Free from Lavasoft)atleast a couple times a week. You would be amazed how much crap gets pushed and pulled into your system.

just run something simplistic like McAfee or even the lesser Norton package that normally comes with an XP machine and their yearly package updates run daily at around less than a Ben a year.

Adware and Spyware are free downloads which will take out most of the ADVERTISING windows and popups that live in the neatherworld of your PC as well as some very crude "bugs". POP UP blockers are nice to keep the annoyance factor down as well.

If you have a firewall.....lock down your open ports.......

If you use something like Comcast High Speed Internet at least they typically use a floating IP to assist vs some DSL service types.
