Three games on tap today- Last day of trial. 5-2 on major category plays.
    Games are:
    Cinn/ Balt-- Rapuano Umpiring 3-10 O/U last 13 games. 1-4 O/U in last 5 games.
Cinn is 6-4 O/U with a combined record of 5-1 against Colorado and TB.
Balt is 4-5-1 O/U in the last ten games.
I have noticed that if the game is under 10 on odds that the U/O is 8-3. Unfortunately that does not work here. Odds are 10.5 to 11 as both pitchers have hefty ERAs.
    Balt is 26-33 as a team O/U and Cinn is 36-25 O/U.
    Pitchers are Ponson 4.82 (7-5 O/U) and Ortiz 6.25 (6-3) O/U
Last three favors Ponson and Baltimore in this game.
Ponson 20.2 IP 2.61 ERA Ortiz 14.2 IP 7.98 ERA
If stats hold true to form then the game shows Ponson throwing a complete game and Ortiz out after five innings.
Thunderstorms are in the area where a slowdown from time to time effects the game. Give the nod to the Under. MLB has encouraged it. The Umpire Zone. Play Balt. and Under
Back with the other two plays.

        2nd game is
        LAA/NYM Cooper Umpiring 7-4 O/U and 4-1 O/U Last 5 20-11 Last year
As mentioned I have noticed that MLB likes to send Umpires with a smaller strike zone (over) to rule over good pitchers and defensive teams. This evens up the score and sometimes provides a margin to play upon. Most are jumping on the under on this one. Lets see why:
LAA is 17/17 O/U on the road. Mets are 14-17 O/U at home.
LAA has J Lackey pitching 4-1 3.94 ERA away with similar stats at home.
In the last 5 J. Lackey 20.0 IP 3.60 ERA.
NYM has P. Martinez 25 IP 0.72 ERA
        Last 10 Lackey is 6-3 O/U and Martinez is 3-4 O/U
Since 1997 MARTINEZ is 10-1 when starting against ANAHEIM with an ERA of 2.24 and a WHIP of 1.047.
His team's record is 11-3 (+4.9 units) in these starts. The OVER is 5-9. (-4.7 units)
No stats on Lackey for same time period.
Umpire Zone- Play the Mets Martinez looks unstoppable if stats hold true to form. The O/U too close to call.

          Minn/LA Dodgers T. Welke 3-7 O/U 0-5-1 Last 5 Known to call a large strike zone (under)
Pitchers are Radke 0-2 ERA Away 18.0 IP 5.50 ERA Last 3
          and Houlton 1-0 1.46 ERA @ Home 8.1 IP ERA 1.08 Last 3
          Pitcher Report Card
          Line W-L O-U RPG Pitcher G# W-L O-U Team ERA
          975 Minnesota 8 36-24 26-28 4.59 --B Radke (R) 13 5-4 7-5 8-5 4.03
          976 Los Angeles Dodgers -105 32-29 33-23 4.79 --D Houlton (R) 1 1-0 0-1 1-0 6.04
Indications is that Houlton's ERA may be inflated from a road appearance.
Umpire Zone- Books have this at 8 - seems low - public on the over and the total will rise no doubt- wait it out and play Dodgers Under.
On the Baltimore (Under) game - same thing Wait it out and play the under- Now at 11.5. Good Luck Today and remember this is still a trial so play responsibly if ya bet it.
I even parlayed a couple to keep my bet low.

Thanks Chung. I just call them as they appear. Many do not take Umpire Records into consideration. That is what this is about. What appears rosy on top has thorns below. We are trying to see the thorns for a better view of the whole plant. We are trying to see by which rules are played to see if value can be obtained.

Well the trial is over. Balt under 11 Loss, and LA Dodgers Under 8 Won. The two sides -which were analytical plays (not system plays) due to the umpire not figuring into it---loss. My take is that the system held up to 6-3 Record. It was interesting to note the placement of umpires for the games. As mentioned earlier, an umpire who has a predominant under record worked the over situations and vice-versa. This seemed to be common-place in the trial and therefore we could not establish a clear advantage of the total. Larry Onion utilized a three tier fantasy sytem with some success. I hope he will give us some info on his trials. Thanks also to Chung who helped motivate us and made some successful picks. Thanks to all who trusted us enough to make a bet. I truly believe we have cappers with better stats and will share to members. If in the future -if something is blaring out then I will deliver the info at that time. Good Luck to all.
