I burried my Aunt today, and want to thank everyone for their thoughtful comments!!! I learned one thing from her while growing up and would like to pass it on to everyone.
Don't overcomplicate your life in that it takes over and sucks the life from you! Make your life simple by not putting yourself in a situation that you can't take control of.
She raised 3 children by herself after her husband died, working as a Deputy Sherrif and later raised her daughters 3 kids after she died. She was blessed with 32 grand and greatgrandkids.
Enjoy your life, don't sweat the small stuff. Nothings ever too bad in your life, even when your not delt a fair hand. Always put a smile on your face even when you don't feel up to it!!
And in your lifetime, try to do something special for someone, who you may know or not!! I did and that's why I have a smile on my face 24-7!! I adopted my daughter 8 yrs ago from Russia and gave her a loving and caring family!!.............

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Chuck. She sounds like she was a great person.
I just started a new job a few weeks ago and my boss left the day I started for Russia and adopted 2 kids. He just got back Monday.

I am very ignorant on this subject, but is the adoption process here in the US so screwed up that we need to go to Russia? I assume we have allot of kids looking for good homes here as well.

Thanks for the info about your aunt!! Great philosphy on life, especially not sweating the small stuff! As the father of three daughters, I can tell you, you not only changed a little girls life when you adopted her. But obviously your own. My respect for you not only as a capper, but a man just continues to grow. Thanks for sharing and for being such a class act!! There are a lot of young guys who come to this site, and you are a great example to them. Thanks for showing us whats really important!

Hey Chuck I know what you mean. Last year I lost my Mother and two Brothers pass away with in 4 days of each other. Also our family lost a niece a few weeks ago, and lost a friend last year as well. Enough death already!

It sure made me wake up. I quit smoking and I took up bike riding. LOL. So, Do all that you can do in this short time we have here.
