  • Discussion about Game 1 - NBA tonight!

Does anyone see Detroit keeping this close?

I see San Antonio easily covering the 6.5. They are SO disciplined and so good on defense, and they play to whatever type of basketball the other team plays.

Phoenix wants to run, they'll run, Detroit wants to slow it down and make it a defensive battle, they'll do that as well.

Thoughts from the board are appreciated!!!!

The reason I think it'll be close, is because it'll be low scoring, and a defensive battle. This is it, for all the marbles, so I think Detroit will leave it all on the floor. San Antonio should win the game, but it's a lot of points. I'm playing the Pistons teased with the under.

i certainly see the pistons playing this one close, and possibly pulling off the upset. everyone thinks that the week off is such a huge advantage for the spurs, i think the pistons will have the better continuity because they haven't stopped playing meaningful games. if you look at the pistons track record, game one is the game they come out and play real well and sometims win...they are like 7-1 against the spread in game 1's. if that theory holds true, they will probably get run out of the gym in game 2. i definately see a series on our hands, and nobody is giving the pistons a chance in hell to win this thing, yet they are the defending champions, have the better of the matchups in this series (imo), and play their best ball when everyone else counts them out!

The under might be the way to go. Both teams are capable of going 8 or 8 minutes without a point.

Detroit seems to play the best with their backs against the wall, when they are down 1-0 or 2-0 they turn it up, so I think they lose by double digits 2nite

Big Weiner has the play- however, why not give up first half and lets see. Detroit is gonna look like shit even though I put a bet on em. I have San Antonio owning them but I am just waiting out a half before I can see with my eyes the matchups. SA' s bench is the difference in this series. Detroit was lucky it caught Miami injured- Damon Jones only played the first half with a twisted ankle in game 7. He never returned for Miami in the second half. This is luck sometimes more than skill.
Detoit is a little better offensively but weaker on defense than last year/ SA has both and can play with ya whatever game is brought in. I was impressed with the way they handled Seattle's offense.
Look for way under the radar defense tonight. SA-Ginobilli (slasher) and DET-Hamilton (better midcourt personality) to take control. Should get downright boring. Snooze - Snooze by the 3rd quarter. Thats how I see it.
"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

i bet the under when it came out at 179.........we'll see, but i dont see either team breaking 90 all series long.

Detroit comes back a couple days later off a couple easy tune ups against Miami. San Antonio has built rust and has to shake it off against a drastic change in style. Detroit wins this game.

                              Go Spurs

Detroit went through a long seven game series

Everybody thinks the long lay off will hurt the Spurs

Remember what happened in the last two 7 game teams Indiana, Dallas.

Both blew where blown out in game 1 of the next series

                              The same here.

Jump on it and Sprus all the way -6.5
