  • Interleague Play

So I got an idea on Monday after considering interleague play that the dogs would be barking because it's such a change of pace for teams and because the games are less meaningful to the playoff-caliber teams (because if they play a divisional foe or conference wild card challenger then 1 win guarantees 1 more loss for that team you'll need to beat out for the playoffs)

I also figured that since the DH's would be dropped this time around and that the pitchers would be forced to hit that there might be a tendency towards unders.

Since my book offers ML/Total Parlays, then I decided to play each Interleague game on a Dog/Under parlay for a small amount ($10 per play for me) just to see if I could hit anything.

Well, even though it hasn't been a particularly large subset of games so far, the dogs are now 12-10 this time around and the totals are 8-12-2 after the Cubs 2-0 win today with 8 games containing both results. So my parlay system has a record of 8-13-1 for a gain of $153.62 using the lines that I had available at the time through 22 games.

Just wanted to throw this out there for everyone to consider. By no means would I ever go overboard on something like this because I'm playing so many games and this small set could very well be a coincidental deviation from the mean and/or the books may have caught up to the trend by now. All FYI.
    GL to everyone today.

The home team has an advantage in interleague play. Playing all home teams in interleague play since last year would have returned a profit. The AL did better than the NL.

Regarding Totals. The AL UNDER is a huge loser. While the OVER is almost at break-even

In the NL the OVER is a huge money loser while the UNDER is a small loser.

The NL has done very well vs the AL as a home dog. My guess is Vegas and the public over-rate the AL due to the DH rule. The UNDER for the NL home dog is slightly profitable. The OVER is a huge loser.

Thanks Frank. If you modify this system then to include only the Home Dogs then it's record is 4-5 for +$91.82 the past 2 days.

Home Dogs went 2-3 on the night with the under for a +$24.64 profit.
Overall the dogs were 6-7 and the total was 7-6 and the combined was 5-8 for a +$80.98 profit.

Overall then, the home dogs in this system are 6-8 for +$116.46 profit and the total tally is 13-21-1 for a gain of $234.60

Every home team tonight is favored, so I might take it easy and wait til tomorrow according to the stats that Frank gave.
