Yeah I may know the guy too Kapt. It was in a strike year- thats why the walks count is low. That would make 1994 or 95 the year. It seems like BS when we have to spend our time mulling over a trivia question. Am I on the right tract- Kapt.

My thoughts exactamondo BigWeiner. It has to be a strike year and BS was best.

The key here is as a "starter". I think we are looking for a pitcher that also pitched in relief.

you are 100% right...what a control freak he was...threw the ball 93-95 MPH with breaking stuff and uncanny control...was a major clown in clubhose, once thre a batch of firecrackers under a table where the media was interviewing, and squirted Reporters with Bleach out of a squirt bottle once...

His pitching record is uncanny...look it up sometime...kapt

I put in as a starter to help eliminate a reliever who could have pitched lesser innings and got credit for 14 wins...

as a starter meaning he pitched in the rotation and a lot of innings...

KC Royal then finished up with the Mets---I think thats where he ended his career...

Again get it first (in cryptic form) and have no recognition- oh well time for a beer.

                      David Wells.

He's always been a clubhouse clown. He's got good control. Pitched one season in the NL

I missed the answer on Saberhagan.

He ended his career in Boston.

1994 with the Mets. Pretty impressive.

Wow!! What awesome BB numbers he had in his career!!

                            1994 with Mets: 14 wins 13BB 143K 24GS!!!

A walk every 13.64 inning. BB every 1.5 games!! That's sick!!

                            Finished with Boston in 2001.

                            Thanks for the info kmann!!

This was a great trivia question. It couldn't be easy to look up on the internet.

                              Kmann, keep em coming.

Yea good question Kapt. I remember Schilling was on pace to do the same thing one year (more wins then walks)
