Today I'll back Kansas City at San Francisco.
Boy, the way the Royals have been playing, every lousy team will be wanting to fire their manager soon. They're 5-2 since Buddy Bell took over, and they're coming off an 8-1 rout of the Giants last night, handing San Fran its 10th loss in 11 games.
KC starter Runelvys Hernandez is coming off one of his finest outings of the season, limiting hot-hitting Texas to three hits and one run in six innings of work. I read that boxscore and decided then and there to take him in his next outing, and here we are as the Royals snapped an eight-game road losing streak in impressive fashion last night.
Pitching-poor San Fran is trotting out 40-something Jeff Fassero for his fourth start of the season. The Giants aren't hitting, their pitching staff is in shambles, and they're two games under .500 at home.
3* ROYALS (on a 1* to 5* basis)
