  • Question on -1 run lines

I use sportsbook, they don't have -1 run lines, only -1.5 run lines. Who all carries -1 run lines? And what's the deal with the -1 run line. Like for tonite a popular pick is pedro and the mets -1. So if they win by 1 you just push? Any info would be appreciated.

Why wouldn't you just take all your faves with the -1 run line for a better payout knowing that as long as they win, the worst you can do is push?

because there are many 1 run games and I would rather win than push just to get a little value!! Some lines arent worth the risk...hence the -1 bet

for books that don't offer -1 RL there's a way to bet one team ML and the other RL -1.5 which is the same as -1

            Frank,

Do they offer alt rl's at -1...There might be some nice value in that.....Team like Toronto that never seems to have a one run game, they either get killed or kill somebody....GL

I'm not sure I understand this...tonite the Astros are +160, and the Mets -1.5 RL is +125, so how is that the same as a
                -1RL?

If you wanted to place a bet which would be equivalent to a Mets -1 RL bet for $100 let's say. Here's what you would do:

Place a $90 bet to win 50 on the Mets -190 ML
Place a $50 bet to win 62.50 on the Mets -1.5 RL

Therefore, if the Mets win by exactly one run, then your bet is essentially refunded because you won the ML bet and lost the RL bet. So you are effectively betting NYMETS -1 (-124)

Sorry it took so long for someone to respond

Say you wanted to take NYM -1

Take NYM ML -173 at 173 to win 100
                    Take NYM -1.5 +130 at 100 to win 130

it equates to 273 to win 230
                    or NYM -1 -119

if the Mets win by 1, you'll win the moneyline and lose the run line. in other words, it'll be a push.

                    good luck.

Chuck, Frank or Wayne: any of you guys know if pushes count towards your rollover, I'm hoping the answer is yes cause I have a ton of pushes, and only been with pinny a month.
