Charlie- Good Luck. I've tried to slow ya down until you hit your stride, but you're a stubborn cuss. A six way parlay? You may have money to burn, my friend, but your sanity is a concern. I see this and I feel really bad for ya. Follow Chucks lead or Homer or Frank or B/C member with experience or anyone hot ( got a few new hot cappers emerging) at the time. Yanks will steal your heart and stomp that sucker flat- nothing else needs to be said here except they are cold right now. Betting on them won't make em play better. I tried to back ya down off the Heat last night 8200 smackers to a more realistic bet- I told ya that Detroit experience was 9-0 in closing out a series, that is a hugh reason not to place that much money on the opposite side- you are not in control - your emotions are- your perception is off- you are not going to listen to anyone are you? You may have a winning night and win a battle but I see ya betting it all the next night. I like you and I wish I could help in some way. You may take this as an insult Charlie, but we do care about ya. Take a breath- if you keep doing what you're doing- you keep getting what you're getting. I wish you the best.

I simply hate to throw anything but good luck to a member- its obvious to me, however, that the classic signs of gambling fever was running high. Allow us a chance to help in this situation. We have all experienced chasing and usually for naught. Our egos need a bump to help us thru a crisis. Taking a day off gets harder and harder because the plays you would have played just might come in and save ya. Less is more. Playing percentages off a hot capper or system works. I am up this year but last year - my first was nothing but chasing. It was nightmarish to hand over 10 gs twice in a month. I felt I could absorb the loss- financially yes to a degree- if ya count taking out a loan. But my moods and emotions had become an issue with my lady. There was a good thread for awhile called Members Chat. It expressed many views on this issue. You may have seen it. Not many members will speak about the holes they dug for themselves. Not many will come forward and say they have been where you are now. If we are ever to come to grips with our demons we must expose the truth and pray it sets us free. We are all gamblers on this site. Those that look in and don't are excluded. Kapt, RJ, Frank, Spark, Wayne, CB, Rip, Krunch, Truckin, Rwall, LSU, Monte, (just name dropping) and so many more are all losers at one time or another. We must join as a force to bet responsibly- no more than 1/3 your betting money for a night. That way a bad night does not mean the end. I started with only three Hundred and bet small until it built up. In one way, I wish I now have bet larger. I had one bad night and poof 600 down the drain on one play. This is nothing like last year when each bet was 1500 -the max I could go with my bookie. Parlaying my ass off -trying to make the hit. Chasing and not sleeping well. Others here may join in with the idea that we are all in a similar boat and need to encourage the treating this as a business and not as gambling. Gambling tends to make ya go all in way to many times. Vegas loves ya. B/C has allowed us a forum where heros emerge. They may get their plays from elsewhere. It does'nt matter. We like to see winners. Not wanting to see - I bet all this money on this play. I wish ya the very best and will be aboard ship if ya need anything.

Charlie, now that you are back to break-even in baseball why not post using more realistic units and/or amounts. Rate your plays from 1* to 5*. Enough with these 75* and 50* plays. You'll have more credibility with normal units. IMO you have no credibilty with your outrageous bet amounts. Even if your gambling group is betting 5 dimes and more on games that's not something I'd be posting on the web. As Coverboy stated in a thread over the weekend there are real potential risks.

Spearit, you raised some points that hit home. I quit betting for about 10 years. It was affecting my family. I had small children at home. I was more concerned with scores than spending time with my kids. I couldn't sleep at night worried about the west coast games. I was betting my mortgage on a nightly basis.

About ten years later I'm back. Older! Wiser! My kids are older. My salary has tripled while my unit wager is about 25% of what it was. I do this for fun. For the first time I'm successful at it. Why? I bet well within my means. When I lose a game most of the time I don't care. It's done and over. I can't change the results of the game. You cap games more open-minded when you're not risking the rent. There's no doubt I'm a much better capper and sport bettor now.

As many know I don't watch the games I bet. Most nights I either check the scores late at night or in the morning. That also makes me a better capper. I'm not allowing past results, good or bad play a role in capping. I love capping the NBA. I HATE the sport. I hate watching it.
