It's official. Lines posted on the New York Yankees are coming from Rod Serling in the Twilight Zone. New York is a .500 team after exactly one-third of the season. They've lost six in a row and have scored an average of two (two!) runs during that streak. They are playing on the road against the third best team in the league. The Yankees should be a +135 dog not a -135 favorite. I won going against 'em yesterday and will play against them as long as: a) they're favored and b)they keep losing. All of that said, I liked yesterday's play better and I don't like the pitching matchup. I like Wang a lot (he's going to be very good) and Mays isn't going well. Still, as I said yesterday, when you play dogs and get all this extra money for it, there are going to be negatives. Let Steinbrenner be miserable. Let's not join him.
