    12) Dwyane Wade's back injury opens the door for a Spurs championship. Simple as that.

    11) Every NBA playoff series should be the best-of-3 until the Finals, which should be best-of-5.

    10) After Miami's Game 5 win, Shaq said that he will pay for funeral of former Laker great George Mikan, who died this week at age 80, and whose family is in financial difficulty. Classy guy, Mr. O'Neal.

    9) One of the most time-honored drills in basketball, to this day, is the Mikan Drill for big men, where they make a lefty layup, catch ball and make righthanded shot, then continue until they've made 10 of each. All big men do this, from biddy ball on up.

    8) Derrek Lee is the first baseball player to lead in all three Triple Crown stats (BA, HR's, RBI) on June 1st since Matt Williams, ten years ago.

    7) Cubs have used nine different starting pitchers this season; they used seven all of last season.

    6) I am waiting to see what sap NFL team takes flyer on Ricky Williams; I would be stunned if the Dolphins planned on using him all season.

    5) Baden has put out a playground basketball, and it actually glows in the dark. Now, if you could just find your teammates in the dark, it would be lot easier.

    4) One of the first things you see when you walk into the local Dick's Sporting Goods is a poker table with the ESPN logo on it, for a mere $150. For $50 more, you can get playing cards and all the chips. Amazing.

    3) Carlos Beltran hit his seventh home run tonight, and again, Pedro Martinez was pitching. All seven Beltran taters have come with Pedro on the hill.

    2) On Monday morning in Vegas, what were the odds that the Royals would sweep Bronx three games? This was KC's first sweep in their last 79 series.

    1) Royals have relief pitcher named Ambiorix Burgos; somehow, with his mother pregnant, the parents got together and decided to name a son Ambiorix. Wow.
