Heat (2-1) @ Pistons-- Detroit fighting foes on several levels; the Heat, which shot over 52% from floor in their Game 3 win, the officials, as this series has become very difficult to control (97 free throws in Game 3), rumors that the evil Larry Brown will leave to become boss of the Cleveland front office. Shaq/Wade are enough, but now the Miami role players are playing well, as the Twin Towers lineup of Shaq-Mourning has caused problems down stretch of games for offensively-challenged Pistons This is bigger game for Detroit than the Heat.

      13) If you catch replay of Amare Stoudemire's great block of Tim Duncan's attempted dunk in final minute last night, check out Nash, with the subtle shove in the back of Duncan, just as he jumped. Three referees, and no one sees this?

      12) San Diego has an excellent baseball team; Sports Illustrated needs to have them on a cover soon, they're not in the east, but they might be best team in majors.

      11) Padres made their first error in 101 innings in 9th inning Monday night.

      10) Dave Roberts, who sparked Red Sox' comeback in playoffs last year, is sparkplug for Padres who stole second base on 3-0 pitch last night. Don't think I have seen that happen before in major leagues.

      9) Through Monday night's games, home teams in the majors this year are 412-386 (.516). Under has edge vs over, by 399-325 margin (.551).

      8) Last three World Series champs have all been Wild Card teams, bad news for the Cardinals.

      7) The AL Wild Card has never come from Central Division, but that might all change this season.

      6) There has been at least one hit batter in 18 of last 20 Bronx-Boston games.

      On to some golf information...............
      5) Fred Funk leads Tour in driving accuracy, hitting a crisp 75.2% of fairways..............

4)........but he is not in top 10 in greens in regulation, which Kenny Perry leads in with 73.1%.

      3) Scott Hend leads PGA Tour in average drive, with 319.2, or 11.4 yards more than any other golfer. The usual leader, John Daly, is ninth with 299.0 yards. If you care, Eldrick Woods is fourth.

      2) 32 guys have already earned $1,000,000+ on pro golf tour this season.

      1) As we head towards the US Open, #125 on PGA money list is Frank Lickliter, with $258,562. #126 is Ryan Palmer, with $257,361. Finishing in top 125 is the biggest thing for the struggling pros, because it is the ticket to be on Tour the following season.
