  • Memorial Day Baseball

I remember when Memorial Day was all about doubleheaders. An awesome day to watch baseball. I understand that the finance side of the game dictates that DH's aren't scheduled any longer, but there isn't even half a schedule tomorrow.

Rented Mule-it really is sad how much economics have taken over.
I remember as a kid in the fifties and then in 60's most teams including the Sox had doubleheaders.
I used to watch the first Sox game on tv, and then since more times than not the second game was not televised, I would take my handy transistor radio with me and listen to the second game.
I remember many times getting my car after I turned 16 and driving down to Fenway on a Sunday to watch those doubleheaders;it was great-I would get there for BP and then have a great and fun day.
Unfortunately 2 for 1 admission doubleheaders are pretty much extinct and ARE extinct at Fenway, as only day nighters exist.
