Arena Football:
Orlando +3 over New York
NASCAR:
30% of wager on Greg Biffle @ 11/1
40% of wager on Jeff Gordon @ 8/1
10% of wager on Jamie McMurray @ 28/1
20% of wager on Tony Stewart @ 17/1
Jimmie Johnson is obviously the guy I hate to leave out--he's won 3 of the L4 races at the track but I can't find a price anywhere to make him worth betting. Furthermore, he's publically stated how the new surface at LMS makes it feel like a different track. He's obviously a threat to win here (for that matter, he's a threat to win anywhere) but I'll stick with the better value on the drivers above.
Indy 500:
FIELD @ 22/1
Great value here as we get Kenny Brack as part of the field bet. By
comparison "field" is +450 at Carib and +707 at Pinnacle. Brack is
+1000 at Olympic, so getting him at this price is a nice overlay.
Brack is making his comeback after a life threatening crash at Texas
in 2003. He may be the best "pound for pound" driver in the Indy 500
field--there was talk about him getting a NASCAR ride before his
hellacious wreck--and in a race that anyone can win we've got a hell
of a driver at a hell of a price. You can also get a prop on the
Brazillian drivers at Olympic:
BRAZIL +200 to win Indy 500 (Helio Castro Neves, Tony Kanaan, Victor
Miera and Bruno Junquiera).
I'll admit that I'm not much of an Indy car authority, but I'll take
this position to win a little should one of the 4 Brazillians win and
a lot should Brack take the race.
