  • Very Interesting Topic........

    Guys,

I was talking this morning with another guy that I cap games with and he was talking about parlaying the Cubs -230 with 3 other teams. Now of course if the Cubs lose, you're f*cked with all 3 bets. But the other 3 teams can be as high as -230 and you'll still have + $$$ paying out. I think 2 -230 games is like +105.

It's funny because now I see that EZ (John) has done that with 3 parlays today.

Anyone have some opinions on this????

Again, I DO realize that if the Cubs lose, like they did yesterday, then you've lost all 3 parlays.

I don't like putting all my eggs in one basket. Especially on a lousy team like the Cubs. They are sooooo over-valued.

My advice. Take the Devil Rays instead of the cubs in your parleys. Your better off.

RJ, the last two nights I played a 2-team round robin parlay with 4 teams. It's 6 parlays bets. Both night 3 of 4 games won. I won money each night. I bet it that way instead of a 4-team parlay. If all 4 teams win I'll win almost the same amount as a 4-team parlay. I minimize the risk.

            smart move frank man!!

I am going to agree that I dont think the risk of betting one team in a lot of parlays is worth it, yet it does depend on the team. If you got a -250 fav who is 8-2 against a team at home last 10, I think it may be a profitable proposition, but you definitely have to picks those spots and they only come up so often. Also, the point that is often made about playing 162 games and everyone will lose a certain percentage of those is very valid to this discussion. I would be very gun shy of wagering with this method.

BT I agree! My high line parlay are from systems that are 70% or more. They are mostly -150 to -225.

To be honest, I play EZ's plays. On Monday and Tuesday, he did very well with this strategy, winning 3 parlays with the Cards on Monday and making money winning 2 out of 4 with the Yanks on Tuesday.

That being said, I felt like I was putting all my eggs in one basket, so to speak.

No guts, no glory, I guess.

Well, I know its the SUCKY cubs, but I didn't feel they would lose 2 in a row to Colorado with Prior on the hill. I didn't know he'd only pitch 3 innings because of a line drive to the elbow, but it looks like it will work out.

Believe me, I usually don't like putting all my eggs in 1 basket either. Just thought I'd give it a try today.

Now every game I match up with them will be a bigger payout!

I'd rather bet the extra $$$$ and play a round robin. This way if your top play loses you still have a chance to winning parlays with the other 3 teams.
