The good news for Bonds haters is that he will never be revered the way the Babe, Hank Aaron and his godfather are. They are all legends. Barry will always be thought of as a cheater and his records will be discounted as a result of illegal substances and not greatness. Too bad for him, but far worse for MLB in the long run. Thirty years from now, this will be far worse than the Black Sox scandal...

Selig & Co. will make it front page news...bet the farm...setting example of a great one (thanks to phamacuetical help)...this steroid stink shoulda been ancient history by now anyway....Tooo many players already proven to use the sh*t...Mark McGwire/Sosa days shoulda opened some eyes wider than than they pretended to be & gotten rid of it.
Barry B (if positive) will be poster child for future MLB'ers...they won't tolerate drugs any shape or form.
What's it doing to our kids who find baseball players' their "idols'?
FIRST OFFENSE....ban 'em
SECOND OFFENSE..CAN 'em (minimum 5 years)
THIRD OFFENSE....LIFE w/o parole.

Regardless of any current testing bonds USED steroids. Nobody gets that big that fast without them. In his prior positive testing he claims that he was given flaxseed oil and a cream by his trainer but did not know what was in it. Amusing thing about that is why then isn't he suing the trainer who duped him and gave him a potentially harmful substance? Because it is just another barry bonds lie.
As for not throwing out Sid Bream, bonds choked in every postseason game he played for Pittsburgh. Every at bat you could just see the 'choke' oozing out of him. It was like he was batting cross handed. When you choke you do not look smooth, and he looked anything but smooth. And in those days bonds had just a figurative 'big head'; Andy Van Slyke, a damn good center fielder, told baby bonds to move in for that hitter and situation and bonds waved him off like he knew better and refused to move in.
I have heard that Van Slyke was never a bonds fan. I wonder if him and Jeff Kent have traded notes.
No way I would ever put him in the same company with the truly great players whom there was nothing artificial about.
Would not doubt it that his leg problems are a result of too much weight for his frame. Same thing happened to mcgwire. Do not understand mcgwire getting more heat than bonds. At least mac admitted during his playing days that he was using something artificial even if he lied that it wasn't steroids. Artificial is artificial. The end result is the same. But bonds, unlike mac, continues to lie that he ever knowingly took juice.
As for selig, he has played the role of an asshole, which is right in character for him.
Agreed, this is far worse than the black sox scandal. Comiskey was a cheap-ass owner and deserved it. And I don't believe that shoeless joe threw anything. I think he was a sacrificial lamb.

Lovedoc,
Now I know for sure Barry is telling the truth because Bill Clinton said so and he's as honest as i am.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham

Bonds will pass this test. Since he isn't playing this year he isn't taking steroids. Testing him now is like testing me for drunk driving if I haven't had a drink since Monday.

FRANK, it depends on which steriod he was on. There are a lot of factors, were they anabolic or not? Was it an oral fix? What it an injection? When it comes to altering drugs all these matter in finding out the duration that the steroid will be able to be detected and through what kind of testing are they using, blood, urea, or urine. The duration of anabolic steroids can range anywhere from about 4 days to about 18 months believe it or not. Some take a very long time to work out of the system.
My Opinion: BARRY IS GUILTY, CASE CLOSED. Whoever thinks that Barry is innocent must also believe everything their child tells them as well. Barry reminds me of a little kid trying to lie to his mom, the story gets stupider and stupider, just to cover up the last lie he told 3 seconds ago. Dance around the issues all you want Barry, it's amazing that you dissappeared ERRRRRRRRR, conviently "injuried" for the entire season. Hope you get all the drugs out of your system before you come back. Barry, you're a disgrace and you're as bad as Pete Rose when it comes to being a man and taking responsiblity for your action. You are BUSTED, face it and fess up to what you did. Put all this together with his over sized head, the excuses, the blaming of others, the bullshit congression hearings, the dancing of the MLB, playing the "race" card, hiding behind his son. To me it's sickening to see athletes like this.

Ahh--where in the hell did the good old days go....BaseBall players with Beer Guts, bellies hanging, hangovers on a daily basis, smoking in the dugout, eating hot dogs between innings, sharpening spikes, playing with all heart, for a few dollars...They loved the game, when it was a game, and our entire country (especially children) looked up to em....
In those days, if you offered a baseball player, twice his salary to be on a losing team, or stay on a winning team---the money was not a factor--in those days, they wanted to win...thats what the game was played for, so you could get that great feeling of being a world champion....In those days the only substance used was preparation h to cool down and shrink those bad ass hemmoroids...in those days that was the only word that rhymed with oids...not today...
Just my take, from and older man (ok rwall an old man) who was there, and played the game...kaptLast edited by Kaptain; 05-27-2005, 09:13 AM.
