Rain. I feel the same way about Miami as you. The only difference we have is that your 5 has 3 zeros after it and my 5 only has two zeros after it. I even made a small play on Miami -9.5 points at Plus 220. Hope we and everyone else on Miami hits. If Miami ******, then we will also have bonus of dnasty losing.

Good Luck Rainman- Points are the big problem. I have to go with the team that has played this Miami team the toughest. I look for the emotional factor and its about not letting it get out of control. We saw alittle of that last night from Seattle. Tonight - will be a good contest. May both teams play hard.
Some thoughts from Game 1 from another capper: He selects Miami as well:
I am surprised as can be at the total lack of fouls called in that
game. I believe the fouls were 15-12. That is an incredibly low number,
especially when Shaquille O'Neal is on the floor.
The Miami supporting cast had 23 points. I said that they were not
going to get the looks they were accustomed to. That proved true in Game 1.
Alonzo "tough talk" Mourning had two dunks. Dolling hit a few jumpers
and D.Jones had the three in 4th. That was about it for those guys and
Haslem.
Eddie Jones: He usually disappears in the playoffs, but was great
offensively in Game 1. Instead of just settling for jumpers, he drove with a
purpose. That was the biggest surprise for myself in Miami's offense.
Shaquille played good early. He seemed to lack mobility in second half.
They will have to let him get more than 14 FGA's in Game 2.
Defensively, he is prone to pick and pops. The Detroit bigs were hitting their
jumpers in Game 1(even Ben hit a few). I think they will play him about
the same in Game 2 and he will have to be dominating in those time
periods.
Dwayne Wade was rendered average by the Detroit defense. They held him
to 17 PPG in regular season and this game was no different. Wade is
young, when he develops that long jumper in the next few years he will be
unstoppable. His problem is Detroit is long, can rotate defenders and
totally cut off the tiny openings he usually gets thru. I think he will
be better in Game 2, hopefully for the Heat faithful he will force less
shots. Overall though, it is going to be a tough series for Wade.
The thing that is scary for Detroit: They got beat badly in the paint
(52-30 I believe). Its not like they are going to outscore Miami down
there, but they need to close that gap quite a bit.
Hamilton and Billups did not play their best in game one. They shot a
combined 13-35, but each hit clutch shots late to put the Heat away. I
expect better performances from them in Game 2. Its still pick your
poison here, there will always be a mismatch for one of them or Tayshaun.
How do I foresee game 2?
San Antonio showed tonight that it could be done. Detroit will have a
tougher time, but are extremely capable of pulling this off. They showed
last year that even a Game 1 win on the road would not make them
content going home with a split. This game will certainly have many more
fouls and more scoring opportunities. Wade will be better, but not
dominant. He can take a page outta Chauncey's playbook and set the tempo his
team wants and get his teammates involved early.
Miami must have the game played at their pace. They need to get easier
baskets. It is extremely tough to score against Detroit in the half
court.
Sounds like the Heat think Game 1 was fluke and don't plan many
changes....
Antonio McDyess commenting on how teams react to losses:
"Sometimes teams don't change," he said. "Sometimes they go with what
they were doing before and say they just had a bad night."
What does he think the Heat should do?
I don't know," he said. "That's the third time we've beaten them this
year. They might have to come up with something."
D. Wade has hit just 14- of 48 in the three losses to Detroit this
season. Is Detroit shutting him down effectively? Apparently not according
to the Heat.
We made a lot of mental mistakes, a lot of mistakes period," Shaquille
O'Neal said.
Here's SVG's take..
"I think Dwyane can make some adjustments and we can run some different
things, but it will all come down to execution," he said. "We didn't
put in a new offense today. We can run different parts of it to put him
in better spots."
Another Shaquille excuse..
"They are a good defensive team and we just played into their hands,"
O'Neal said. "It wasn't their defense (on Wade), it was that he was
playing too fast. I know (in Game 2) he will let the game come to him and
he will have a better game."
Miami is also talking about letting Wade defend Rip. They believe that
will force Hamilton to have to defend Wade the other way (because of
cross-matches). That's fine with Detroit; Rip will wear that guy early
and often.
Miami is also talking of more playing time at PG for Dooling in place
of D Jones. Damon just gets abused in post against Chauncey. He is also
hurting a bit. The Game 1 woes are nothing new though; he has struggled
mightily against Detroit all year long.
I believe this game is closer than 4.5 points. However, its an opinion- thats why the game is played. Good Luck RainmanLast edited by Spearit; 05-25-2005, 07:39 PM."The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.
