Athletics (16-24) The Giants starting pitcher Rueter is currently at the top of his game and has garnered a 2-0 W/L record and 1.69 ERA and in his last three out-ings. His pitching opponent (Blanton )continues to struggle and has allowed 19 hits over his L/13.1 innings of work that has him registering a ugly looking 11.48 ERA .Oakland is 2-5 in Blanton's last seven starts. Final note: The As have lost 12 of their L/15 overall. Bottom line: I know that Giants have not played well of late, but after a sub par road trip, I expect the home field advantage along with the prospect of fac-ing a young hurler who is still learning to pitch against top notch MLB competition to be the catalyst behind igniting the Giants slumbering offense tonight.

New Orleans comes into this game against Orlando in a position to clinch a wild card spot and play off birth with a victory here today. If the Voodoo should lose it means instant death as they will be eliminated from post season play. The Preds also need a win here today or a miraculous Columbus win over Tampa Bay to guarantee a play off appearance. So needless to say this contest is of the utmost importance to both of these squads championship aspirations. Bottom line: Orlando is healthy for the first time in over a month and is playing on two weeks of rest. It must also be noted that the Predators defeated this same Voodoo squad earlier this season on Bayou turf by a score of 63-52 as 3.5 point underdogs. Not a good omen considering the Voodoo chances here today as they are 1-6 ATS L/7 playing in revenge mode. Look for home field advantage and what I believe is a superior Predators squad to get a victory and cover here in what should be hard fought affair. Final notes: New Orleans is a bankroll depleting 0-7 ATS versus division opponents this season. Orlando is 3-0 SU/ATS vs NO lifetime........(Buy off the hook)

Brown has posted back to back wins for the Yankees. However, both those victories came vs. Oakland, a team which he has always dominated. Brown, 3-6 vs. the Mets, still has an ERA above 6 for the season and I expect him to struggle again this evening. The Mets won the season series against the Yankees last season for the first time in the eight-year history of interleague play, including a three-game sweep at Shea Stadium. Look for them to score the 'upset' this evening.

Tim Hudson the Red Sox pitcher has done well of late allowing 15 ERs over his L/23 innings of work. The right hander is 1-3 with an 8.53 ERA in four career starts at Fenway Park. Last year Hudson garnered a sorry looking 0-2 W/L record along with a bloated 15.43 ERA in two starts against the BoSox. The Red Sox starting hurler tonight (Miller) is 1-3 with a 6.66 ERA from his days form the National League. Bottom line: Notorious hitting park ,two top quality offenses and pitchers with sub par histories in this series spells out runs and lots of them here tonight.
