Pistons (3-2) @ Pacers-- Indiana looked tired at end of Game 5; will home crowd energize them here, in a series where average total is 164.6, with three of the five tilts staying under total? Pacers just haven't made shots; this is likely to be Miller's last-ever home game- can he make one last stand and hit some treys? Indiana is 10-51 in the last three games on three-pointers.

Spurs (3-2) @ Sonics-- Home side is 5-0 in this series, with Spurs losing both visits to this site by 1,12 points- they missed 15 of 34 free throws in pivotal Game 3 loss that kept this series alive. Spurs have taken 30+ FT's in all five games- they cut their turnovers down from 20 to 9 between Games 4 and 5. In their wins, Spurs shot 51, 53 and 46%; in their losses, 44,42%. Sonics are 5-0 at home in the playoffs; if they lose here, season is over.

          13) Watching the Dodgers play as much as I can on DirecTV, I get same feeling when I watched Michael Jordan play for the Bulls; that I was watching one of the greatest people ever to do what he did. Vin Scully is that good behind a microphone, and he has to be 80 years old.

          12) On the other hand, Hawk Harrelson (White Sox) and Michael Kay (Bronx) should be ordered by a court to listen to tapes of Scully, so they can learn how to broadcast without shoving their allegiances down their viewers' throats. Just a thought.

          11) On the other hand, those two teach us the value of the mute button.

          10) We get to watch the Padres, the best team the media chooses to ignore. They're pretty darn good, but no one in the eastern media seems to know/care.

          9) Around 9pm, throw the night's scoreboard up on the laptop, then pick and choose the best game or situation.......Orioles have bags full and one out? We go there......Willis has no-hitter in the 7th? We go there........I get to see the biggest plays of the night live, every night.

          8) Baseball from Wrigley Field. The Friday 3:20 game. Take Me Out to the Ballgame, whether it is Ditka singing, or the state champ girls' volleyball team. Excellent stuff.

          7) Listening to Ray Fosse work on FOX Sports Bay area, and realizing that his getting run over by Pete Rose in the '70 All Star Game was huge career break; while his injured shoulder made him less of a player, it led to him getting traded to Oakland, where he won pair of World Series rings, and helped get him the announcing job he still holds today, 35 years later.

          6) Devil Rays and Royals on a Thursday night. Yes, media, there are thirty teams in the big leagues, and while some are worse than others, they all try very hard.

          5) Watching the great players. Tejada, Maddux, Clemens, Pujols, . Watching the new stars; Brian Roberts, Willis, Teixeira, Adam Dunn.

          4) Pennant races in September; big games every night.

          3) Joe Buck is so much better on local Cardinal telecasts, than he is on national FOX games. More understated, less of a wise guy, a lot more like his dad.

          2) I root for Oakland, but I prefer DH-less baseball; I enjoy games from all the new parks in the National League- they all seem to have such personality, although not sure what that hill is doing in Center Field at the Juice Box.

          1) When I was a kid, the highlight of a weekday was when the afternoon paper came at 4:30, and I could see the A's' boxscore from the night before. Now, you can follow the boxscore in real time, while watching the game live. Information is everything; this is my definition of progress.
