Mavericks @ Suns (2-2)-- In the series, the games that the underdog won stayed under; when the favorite won, both games went over. Totals have been 229-214-221 and 228. Key to series is whether Dallas can continue to separate Nash from his teammates, and make him an "I" guard rather than a point guard. Phoenix is powerful on the run and when Nash is setting up teammates for open treys- they're 23-44 on 3's in their wins, 15-39 in losses

          13) Jason Kendall, until this year, played nine years in Pittsburgh, never on a winning team, despite his .306 career BA and .387 lifetime on-base percentage. This year he is on the A's, who posted a .587 winning % the last six years, but have now fallen on hard times.

The combined winning percentage of the teams Jason Kendall played on, before this season, was .417363. His dad Fred played in the bigs for twelve seasons, in which the teams he played on had a combined winning percentage of .417918. A little weird.

          12) Fred Kendall was a light hitting catcher who was on one winning team, playing just 20 games for the '78 Red Sox, going 8-41 with four RBI. That was the Red Sox team that lost the Bucky Dent playoff game.

          11) Elder Kendall was the original catcher for the '69 expansion Padres; he played ten of his twelve seasons for San Diego, hitting a career-best .282 with 10 HRs in 1973, but finishing with a .234 career BA and .285 on-base %age.

          10) Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas is the place to go if you want to invest in any game of the 2005 NFL season. That is why Vegas is America's favorite city.

          9) Major League Baseball, as usual, misses the boat by not playing up the Amateur Draft as a big television event, the way NFL, NBA and even the hideous NHL do. Baseball could juice up the minor league teams by introducing us to the future stars. Instead, we rely on internet printouts to find out who got drafted. Eeesh.

          8) Adam Dunn walked ten times, last week alone.

          7) At one time, seven NL teams had artificial turf fields but with Expos leaving Montreal, there are now zero.

          6) A typical seat in a ballpark is eighteen inches wide.

          5) There are 108 seams on a baseball.

          4) An average of 47 baseballs are used in the typical major league game.

          3) It ticks me off that espn.com charges for some of their more popular articles. I would think the website is used to promote their television offerings, but they're trying to cash in on all aspects. They should be proud.

          2) The NBA Draft, last time I checked, is two rounds, or sixty selections. 86 underclassmen have declared in this draft. Do the math, and thats not counting seniors in the draft, or foreign kids. Some will go back to their college teams, some are trying to beat the 20-year old age limit that is likely to be put into place.

Some will just fall through the cracks, play in the minor leagues, Europe, or see their careers end sadly. Kids often listen to the wrong people. It is too bad.

          1) Dick Vermeil got roasted for drafting a punter early in this year's draft, but here is why he did; last season, Kansas City started 60 drives 80+ yards from paydirt while their foes started just 36. As good an offense as they have, and as bad a defense, the field position they lost cost them a playoff spot. Vermeil hopes a skilled punter can reverse that field position and help get the Chiefs into the playoffs, in Vermeil's final season.

I dont go to ball games cause the hot dogs are like $8 a piece. If I'm gonna spend $200 on food I'm going to a 5* establishment. I'll eat at home for free and watch the game.
