          Pacers @ Pistons (2-2)-- Indiana split first four games, despite not shooting 40% from floor in any game; guest is 6-2 in series games this season, so home court not the big edge is can be. Low scoring, tense games, average total in series is 166.8, with last two games going under, after first two had just crept over. Pacers 17-72 on treys in series; Detroit was 6-29 on 3's at Conseco. After four games, these teams know each other so well, it comes down to who makes shots, but it seems unfair Detroit is benefitting from absence of Artest.

          Sonics @ Spurs (2-2)-- Home side 4-0 in this series, as spunky Sonics evened series with two wins in Emerald City. After shooting 43%-42%-44% in first three series games, Seattle made half their shots in 101-89 win that evened series, forcing 20 Spur turnovers, after they had just 40 combined in first three games. Spurs won four in a row at home, by 28-10-22-17 points. Totals are 2-2 in this series.

              13) If a pitcher is hit by a line drive and is injured, isn't it at least partially his own fault?

              12) Sunday was the first time in 38 games this season the White Sox never led in their game.

              11) Charles O. Finley should be in the Hall of Fame. No owner was more innovative in the post-expansion era than the colorful Finley, who also put great teams on the field, and also offended a ton of people.

              10) Eric Gagne came back from his rehab assignment and faced the Braves Friday; his first five batters were: homer, homer, strikeout, strikeout, strikeout.

              9) Manny Ramirez is 39th player with 400 home runs.

              8) It surprises me that the Giants haven't won a World Series since they moved West; their last title was back in '54, when they beat the 111-43 Indians in an upset, sweeping the pitching-rich Tribe.

              7) Steve Nash scored 48 points Sunday night, as the Dallas gameplan turned him into Allen Iverson, which he does not want to be. Nash thrives on making those around him better, so the storyline for last three games of series is can Dallas contunue to cut Nash off from his teammates?

              6) Speaking of Iverson, funny how Chris Webber has let it be known he doesn't enjoy playing with AI; that's kind of like Paris Hilton calling you an airhead.

              5) NBA has to be happy with three series at 2-2 in its second round. First round wasn't too great, except for the Dallas-Houston series.

              4) 4,554 brave souls ventured into downtown Albany Sunday afternoon for a WNBA exhibition game. Who says there's nothing to do here?

              3) Walter Payton's son Jarrett is averaging 6.6 yards a carry for Amsterdam in NFL Europe.

              2) Have to be happy for Temple's football players, as Owls were booted from Big East, but found a home in the MAC, starting in two years. Teams should be in a league; it gives you better goals, more to play for.

              1) Drew Pearson was whining Monday about Hall of Fame voters shunning the Cowboys; five of their guys from the 70's are in the Hall, and Michael Irvin would be in, except for his drug issues (he'll get in soon), so really not sure why he was opening his yap.

                          ================================================

                          Remember to study the list over carefully before you make a play. If a GOOD MONTH pitcher is in good form and off a loss, you have a play. Conversely, if a BAD MONTH pitcher is in bad form and off a win, you have a play. Stick to the game plan, and by season's end you'll have a GOOD YEAR -
