Actually my Best Bet tonight is:

San Antonio -2 1/2 first quarter -126 (Pinnacle)

It’s all about intensity in the playoffs. San Antonio didn’t show up on Sunday. The Spurs committed a season-high 20 turnovers and allowed the Sonics to hit 50 percent of their shots (42.9 or less the first three games). Because of this, I’m recommending a rare first quarter wager tonight. Let me take you back to game #2 of the Denver series. San Antonio lost game #1 at home to the Nuggets. They came out smokin’ in game #2 by outscoring Denver 29-18 in the first quarter. In the two home playoff games with the Sonics so far, San Antonio has outscored Seattle in the opening stanza 35-22 in game #1 and 28-16 in game #2. The Spurs also outscored the Nuggets 25-21 in the first quarter in the clinching game #5 of that series. So in the last four San Antonio home games, the Spurs have outscored their opposition 117-77. That’s an average of 29-19. We mentioned in our ‘side’ analysis that San Antonio is 10-0 ATS at home this year off an upset defeat as a favorite including 8-0 when that loss was on the road. I would bet you the Spurs were dominant in the first quarter in all 10 of those games. I took San Antonio –2 ½ at –124 at Pinnacle today at 12NOON ET.
